So, for the moment, the vanity shields remain account bound even *after* equipped. Wonder if they will patch it out soon.

It's basically the best deal they have ever offered, if you want those specific ships. And considering most of them were only available through lockboxes before that bundle (and only as character bound versions) it's an insanely good deal.

So anyway yeah, congrats on picking it up. You know have premium Trek :)

Wait - the premium bundle? The one that costs $100 more just so you can get 10 keys and 10k dil and other garbage like that? Unless you luck into pulling a lockbox or promo ship from that, you wasted a bunch of zen. The regular 10th anniversary bundle is the recommended one, since the only thing worth anything in the bundle is the ships.

Ah ok, I just spent Zen I had saved up over the years, so I just went with the one that seemed to have more stuff. So, I got a bunch of crap I won't need? :) LOL. I still have like 25k Zen, so I'm good.

If i did my math right 235,000 dil at 1:500 dilex means a shield is about US$4.75 or so. Not wholy unreasonable IMO for an account bound item.

Just do the floater event. Maybe get one of the better ones to save your sanity. I did it last year with the rental and I don't want to go through that again.

Personal preference/laziest way for me is "Flying High", once you have a superior or impulsive jetpack. It's three out of four pretty easy little holo-courses scattered around the island. The four courses are picked from around a dozen possibilities. You can do it any time, and you don't have to deal with other people at all. It's easy and relaxing, but maybe not the fastest.

Flying High also gets you 50 favors right away so you get the basic floater. If you want to upgrade it, just go for the 1,000 superior one, or impulsive if you don't care about turning. As for favors, repeating Flying High whenever it's up, the dance contest, and horghan hunt all fairly painless and easy sources. If you want to play the stupid and bad hot/cold minigame, you can do artifact hunt as well, just don't turn it in until he shouts about a bonus.

For phoenix packs? Yeah it's basically don't bother amounts. Just open for upgrades and one day you'll get lucky. (I got insanely lucky doing this and now have the breen raider for cold hearted. ...still character bound though.)

I was there day one for this. I was not there day two. It wasn't really a MMO. It was diablo-lite with social zones and the main gimmick was you had to draw your powers. So your power bar is just constantly being rearranged randomly and very little effort seems to have been out into the design of the power icons so they are almost universally unhelpful and indistinct from each other.

From looking at the wiki for the premium bundle:
  • Extra ship slots: Whatever, put them on whatever char you want.
  • Master keys: Just open infinity boxes with them, the keys are bound so you can't sell them. If you get anything good, feel free to ask about it.
  • Promo RnD packs: Again, they're bound so just open them. If you get a ship you won. You'll probably just get a bunch of rnd mats and 100 lobi.
  • Enhaced Universal Tech Upgrades: These are junk. Upgrade some rep gear or something, I don't know.
  • Spec points: Use them on whichever char you have that needs spec points. You can only use 45 at a time (one primary, one secondary) so if your main char has it's primary and secondary filled, maybe give them to an alt.
  • Phoenix prize packs: Open them, turn them into phoenix upgrades unless you get an UR or epic.
  • Epic phoenix prize token: Save it so you can link it in chat whenever other players are complaining that they have no luck and can't get one. Or use it to get a (single char only) old event ship that's no longer available. Generally people go for the Bajoran Interceptor for the DOMINO console and a decent experimental weapon, or the Breen Plesh Tral for the Cold-Hearted trait which goes well with a2b builds.

The T6-X tokens? Use them on a ship you really really like, they seem to hand them out on a semi-regular basis so you may want to skip buying them from the Phoenix store.

Of the Very Rare tokens, the Voth Bulwark is a big honking ship shaped like a sex toy.

As far as Epic tokens, the Bajoran Interceptor comes with a very good Universal Console that's good on nearly any ship. While the Breen Plesh Tral raider has the Cold-Hearted trait that a lot of people like.
Do remember that Phoenix store purchases (Except the Upgrade Tokens) are character-bound, so buy things on the character you want to use it on.

Other useful items are the EMH Bridge Officer, the Admiralty cards, the consoles and the Prolonged Engagement set. If you buy the Prolonged Engagement set I think it unlocks in the event reclaim, at least it did for me, and the two-piece bonus for that set is fairly nice.

The prolonged engagement set, the sompek stuff, and the tsunkatse gloves all unlock for your whole account after being bought once in the phoenix store.

Anyone know of a decent gallery of the various vanity shields on ships ? Tried STO Wiki but something with wiki themes getting messed with rendered a large majority of the available pictures pretty much un-viewable for me. I'm mostly interested in the Section 31 skin first followed by any of the darker grey/black ones. Especially on an Excelsior.

Yeah it's the Phoenix prize tokens I wasn't sure what to do with. I got 1 Epic, 1 very rare, 2 rare, and 7 uncommon. I didn't want to spend those until I asked here. If you're short on EC you could sell the master keys on the exchange, they're going for close to 10 million EC right now. Otherwise, it's a gamblebox opener. You can buy older lockboxes on the exchange, usually pretty cheap, or do content until new the current ones drop. This is the current lockbox and its contents, just be aware that even with ten keys, its highly unlikely you'll get anything useful.

g0del

^^ Those master keys are almost definitely account bound, so they can't be sold for ec. If they're not bound, I agree, sell them for the ec.

For the keys, just search for "infinity lock box" on the exchange, sorted by ascending price per unit. You should be able to pick up a stack of 9999 for about 300k ec. You'll be able to open 10 with the master keys, and the rest you can trash, or save for if you decide to waste keys again.

For the phoenix tokens the only one to worry about is the epic token. The others are common enough that you can get more without too much trouble. You can buy 10 packs of phoenix boxes for 40k dil anytime you want, so go ahead and get whatever looks fun with the non-epic ones. Most people use them for phoenix upgrades, which are the overall cheapest way to upgrade your equipment. The admiralty cards can be useful, the prolonged engagement gear is nice and is an account-unlock after you claim it once.

For the epic, you can use that to get an old event ship for a single character. Epic tokens are super rare (estimates are somewhere between 1 in 1000 to 1 in 2000 phoenix boxes opened to get one), so be more careful with this choice. The general recommendations are to use it on the bajoran interceptor to grab the DOMINO console (good for DEW builds, great for phaser DEW builds), or the breen plesh tral to get the cold-hearted trait (good for DEW builds using aux 2 batt for cooldown reduction).

Of the phoenix admiralty cards the assimilated cruiser is great, though yeah with how many packs you'll end up opening get them all, as a priority if you dont have many account wide ships. Speaking of the mission Time and Tide has a good science ship reward, and if you fly out to Narendra the Sally Ride is just floating there and is an essential card.

Granted I mostly fly cruisers so my escort and science ship roster is...pitiful.

Breed up some Risian Tribbles by picking up a common one off the exchange and one of the drinks from a Risian vendor, then wait an hour. +Flight Speed and handling.

The "hot/cold" event is simple: just pull up the map on another monitor. Hit F, fly a bit north (like a a tap or two) and hit it again, now you know if you need to go north or south. Strafe E or W, hit F. Fly towards the sites that weren't excluded by the results, repeat.
