Copa America had a 3rd place playoff, and they only had 10 nations in the competition.

Spain v Denmark would be a good match too.

Much as I'd hope for the Danes to smash the Spanish frauds I couldn't take another 90+ minutes of Spanish chokeball

The third place matches were sometimes really good because they would feature most of the players that were on the bench and a lot of them were out to prove themselves. The 3rd place match between Colombia and Peru a few days ago was pretty good, for example.

That said, it’s such a crappy consolation game that it’s hard to get hyped for. Even if you win you’re still mad you didn’t make the final.

https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20210710-england-aim-to-be-euro-top-guns-after-call-from-tom-cruise

quote:

Harry Kane is hoping England will be Euro 2020 top guns in Sunday's final against Italy after receiving a message of support from Hollywood actor Tom Cruise.

England captain Kane will lead his country in their first major final for 55 years.

Ahead of the historic showdown at Wembley, Kane revealed Gareth Southgate's squad had an unexpected call from "Top Gun" and "Mission Impossible" star Cruise, who was in London on Saturday for the Wimbledon women's final.

"Obviously we have had ex-players and people get in touch," Kane told the BBC. "We actually had Tom Cruise get in touch yesterday evening, you get everyone who loves football."

"We were fortunate enough to have a watch of one of his films so I think he was over here in the UK and he just dialled in and FaceTimed us just to wish us the best as a group so that was nice of him," Kane added.

"I'm not sure if he will be there at the final or not but football is such a big part of the world and it's nice to have that support from all different types of businesses."

Wonder which Cruisw film they watched - I'm going with “Lions for Lambs”

Getting the IV needle (the grey ones) into a vein while drunk/hungover sounds like bad time. Public service announcement: do it up to the arm or in the leg where you can easily cover the inevitable bruising you'll cause yourself.
