It's really not a mystery that as we switched from a red meat, beer, and cigarette diet to a healthy diet with lotion and sunscreen and much lower alcohol consumption and tobacco abstinence that we stopped looking like dried pig ear dog treats.

Another huge factor is in very quick order we got rid of indoor smoking. People born in the 90s probably don't even remember it. Like one random Tuesday in the summer of '99 you just couldn't smoke anywhere but biker bars anymore.
