This one was a kit. But honestly same here, I wouldn't want to drive one that I didn't build myself to know everything was done right and no corners were cut, especially with the power to weight ratios these can achieve. But then I think, "do I really trust my mechanical abilities that much?" I think I'll just stick with my Miata for now.

And a lot more "exciting" to drive. And by exciting I mean more likely to send you off a cliff at warp 9 and thats even with much updated suspension, brakes and tyres. I saw one with a supercharged 427 that claimed 800hp with AP Brakes and Ohlins suspension with massive semi slicks and just a rolling work of art and my only thought was ".... where the hell could you possibly even think about driving that safely at close to full throttle?" Had a for sale sign so I guess the owner had some life choice rethinks

Speaking of AC Cobras, I've always been a fan of Bill Thomas' Cheetah. Similar vibe to the Cobra but smaller and lighter. 327 Chevy V8 small block, Rochester mechanical fuel injection, double venturi on top, tube frame chassis, engine behind the front wheels with crazy long straight headers which wrap around where you put your feet basically turning it into a foot oven. 4 speed, Corvette rear diff for IRS which sat so close to the transmission there's no driveshaft, just a coupler. It's an odd looking thing but awesome as gently caress because 'merica.
