There's no need to speak. You must only concentrate and recall all your past life. When a man thinks of the past, he becomes kinder.

Does sunscreen even exist in Dune.

Fremen usually prefer to rub their hands with berry juice instead of wear stillgloves, it prevents water loss and presumably that also protects from UV.

Fremen have oil spice. They are olive-skinned primarily, demographically. If you put a lotta stock into that.

To hear the Fremen tell it they are descendants of Egyptian Arabs. This is probably true but at a remove of over 10,000 years and like five planets there is no basis to assign them to any modern ethnicity or racial group. Fremen look like Fremen

They also interbreed with the settled people, who presumably aren’t all born and raised on Arrakis in the first place. “Polish comes from the cities, wisdom from the desert.” It’s not a closed society even though it sometimes comes off that way.

The Fremen decended from the Zensunni Wanderers according to the books, so it seems that Buddhism and Sunni Islam both had a fair bit of influence.

I mean, I agree with what you’re saying in a real world context, but in the world of the books people seem to be following the Atreides blood line for like 5000+ years so they know very well what their bloodlines are.
