I'm glad I can keep second-hand tabs on 9CL. Willis does stuff like quote 4 year old interviews w/ Brooke, so I worry it's taking over his brain.
It's still being posted in the BSS discord and I hate it. The pride month storyline was just 'Brooke doesn't think bisexuality exists' over and over, along with the usual weirdness.

I hate this loving strip.

Every writer is screaming their head off at this arc. DO NOT ENCOURAGE FANS TO SEND IDEAS TO THEIR FAVORITE AUTHORS. Authors cannot read unsolicited work, especially stuff based on their IP! If they do and later some work of theirs uses a similar idea they can be found legally liable!

Do cartoonists have agents? They must have right? Because every agent will spell this out for you.

I was misreading this arc until now and combined Paul/Bernhard, and thus is was a "university atheist kid who thinks he's knows better and talks back is a complete jerk" moral.

I guess this is a good time to recap the current main characters:

Count Karl Viktor Bertelsköld
The main protagonist of the first half of the fourth book, now a side character. The head of the Bertelsköld family.

Countess Ester Bertelsköld née Larsson
Another protagonist of the fourth book, Karl's second wife. Now missing after the dispute with her stepson Bernhard.

The children:

Bernhard
Karl's son of the first marriage. A massive rear end in a top hat.

Louise
Karl's daughter of the first marriage. Married to a German baron. We'll meet her soon.

Paul
Son of Karl and Ester, the current main protagonist. Used to be an rear end in a top hat atheist, but got better.

Vera
Karl and Ester's young daughter.

Also present:
Eerikki Ljung a.k.a. Eerikki Pietarinpoika
The main protagonist of the second half of the fourth book. Paul's mentor/foster parent in Finland and son of Ester's cousin. He's currently traveling with Paul. He was the last person to hold the famous magic ring in the comic, but in the book it's been mentioned that he lost it. I don't know yet, how that will play out.

This is a pretty awkward scene, but the rumor mill has been rolling and the villagers suspect that Ester has been murdered.

Absolute genius. A thrill-a-minute roller-coaster of a storyline.
