I always love the "well they can vote for local candidates but beyond that they have no real input on national governance or leadership" line that gets deployed to delegitimize communist electoral structures, because that's exactly the scenario myself and like 200 million Americans find themselves in lol

for like the fourth cycle in a row, both primaries were decided before my state even got a chance to cast their ballots, and in the general the most I can do is vote to inform the opinion of one of like 500 people who actually get to vote for president, but yeah I'm definitely feeling like I'm in a much more privileged position than something like the soviets lmfao
