Fox News seems to be in the process of trying to retool their messaging on Covid vaccines. I went and looked there the other day on their Covid news section of the website and could only find one or two items among dozens of clips that even contained any messaging suggesting people get vaccinated or mentioning that serious cases are currently largely among the unvaccinated. Hannity now has a clip about trusting the science, and there was one clip from the Five where they actually advocate vaccination but it's again buried in a muddled mess of "well it's still your choice" etc. I'm hoping there's starting to be a realization that going hard with an antivax message has a lot of risks to it, although it's probably too late to change the minds of most idiots.

I don't remember where I read it, but for these people "trusted sources" are only trusted because they get told exactly what they want to hear. Sure, some of their viewers might decide to get vaccinated because they trust Hannity more than their spouses or children, but the vast majority will scream, "FOX has been infiltrated by the communist atheist nazi muslims!" and start watching OAN instead.

So, uh...at my new job the lead salesman thinks Covid is a hoax and that kids are soft now because he coaches youth football TO WIN but kids get participation trophies. Like it loving matters. I wonder what he listens to in his car and watches on TV? Hmmm....I'll have to ask him. Our production guy came in with a mask today because someone tested positive at some social event he was at, told us about it and I thought that was rather responsible of him. Also, more flag talk: I saw a big gently caress Off truck today with a U.S. flag so laden with different colored alternating stripes that it was bordering on a rainbow and all I could think of was "keep going. Your'e SO close". If we work at it, we can get every Ford f150 redneck in the south proudly waving gay pride flags.

People who are way too into sports are the loving worst, especially youth sports. A guy so used to work for is part of a big hockey family, and would never stop making hockey analogies to what we were working on no matter how useless they were. He was incredibly chuddy. He was some level of girls hockey coach at a local college, not head though. About 10 years ago one of our guys committed suicide and he skipped the guy’s funeral to go to a hockey game.
