MOTYC: Takumi Iroha vs Hibiki - Marvelous 5th Anniversary (7/19) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcLskPpePEM This is Takumi Iroha's return match after sustaining an ACL injury in October last year. She is still the coolest wrestler in the whole world, even if she can't hide her goofy smile at getting to wrestle again. Her opponent Hibiki was her understudy in Marvelous, but adopted a Brian Pillman-esque loose cannon character during Takumi's absence, turning on Marvelous during their interpromotional feud with Sendai Girls to become as much of a nuisance to both promotions as possible by interrupting their shows with a megaphone and cutting bizarre shoot promos, recently recruiting ex-Sendai Girls and Stardom wrestler Andras Miyagi to her cause. She's also very cool, but a massive jackass. The match is very well worked. Takumi gets to show off all her cool kicks and poo poo without taking the shine away from Hibiki. Hibiki does the logical thing as the big bad of the promotion and works over the returning ace's leg without it get boring. Andras intervenes enough in the match to make you want to see her and Hibiki get their asses kicked without completely throwing off the flow of the match and making it boring. The rest of the Marvelous crew at ringside respond appropriately to any shenanigans instead of looking stupid. Once Takumi gets going and throwing some incredible kicks at Hibiki, it's a work of art and the hyper-partisan crowd are fully behind her (I got some dirty looks for involuntarily applauding a sick lariat that Hibiki threw). As a random aside, Hibiki wrestles a lot like Yoshiko without any of the baggage Yoshiko carries. This isn't on the level of Chihiro/Mio or Arisa/Nanae from last weekend but I still think it will make its way into the top ten joshi matches of the year in my book. I highly recommend it. They weren't good enough for me to bother uploading them but I'd go HM on Leo Isaka vs. Hartley Jackson for being a really really good and funny squash match, and on Mio Momono & Starlight Kid vs. Mei Hoshizuki & AZM for being a great high speed match and really letting AZM go in that style of match. Catching up on my DG backlog by watching matches that have returned to the DG Network. HM Dragon Kid vs Susumu Yokosuka, King of Gate 2021 Tag 6, 2021/05/22 Great performance by two workers over 40 who move half their age. I still can't fathom how Dragon Kid achieves the velocity on his Ultra Hurricanrana... I've nthed them already but I highly recommend Shun Skywalker vs Kaito Ishida, that match singlehandedly got me into DG. Kzy vs Kota Minoura in the King of Gate final was also a phenomenal match.

On the other Kenoh set his boot on fire and kicked Muta & that ruled. It's pure spectacle but that's easy to stomach when someone involved is as charismatic as these 2 guys.

The camera just focuses on her as the doctors start checking on her and everything comes to a complete stop. They show replays of the spot where she got injured three times. Gonzalez, instead of doing literally anything else keeps screaming "GET UP!" at Li, ensuring the focus is completely on her. Instead of ending the match in a ref stoppage, they go to the finish, where Gonzales does a one-armed power bomb, doesn't help Li down gently at all, just loving drops her on the ground. So bad. From every angle.
