Having someone who played volleyball and basketball at a high level would be a great fit for their Olympic coverage.

I would be worried about their sports planning given how much they're moving over to Peacock and trying to reboot the cable channels they aren't killing. but yeah the Hill-Nichols story broke partially because of the contract issues, and the NY Post article about Hill seemed to be planted by ESPN to justify them not re-upping her contract, so I think it would be Very Strange if after all this she stays with ESPN.

They're still going to have a ton of Olympic coverage on regular TV. Plus the NFL definitely isn't going anywhere and they also say she'd be in line to host Football Night in America, which is pretty much the highest profile studio job there is.

I absolutely live for incredibly specific and forgotten subject documentaries like this:ACC Network posted:We’re #1! – The Story of 1990 ACC Football, a documentary chronicling the remarkable 1990 football season in the Atlantic Coast Conference will debut in October. Produced in partnership with Raycom Sports, the one-hour show highlights the top teams in the ACC that season, specifically two teams that spent time ranked No. 1 – Virginia and Georgia Tech. The documentary includes footage from one of the most exciting games in ACC history – Georgia Tech upsetting top-ranked Virginia, 41-38, in early November, on a last-second field goal. The Yellow Jackets went on to win the ACC title and claimed a share of that season’s national title. The show also includes a roundtable discussion with stars of the 1990 Cavaliers (Shawn Moore, Chris Slade and Terry Kirby) and Yellow Jackets (Marco Coleman, Shawn Jones, Scott Sisson and Ken Swilling) at the College Football Hall of Fame. I agree that the Olympics are a epicentre for corruption but this year really does seem to be an unprecedented poo poo show. https://twitter.com/bruce_arthur/status/1418144721650606082?s=19 https://twitter.com/insidethegames/status/1418150785515405315?s=19 https://twitter.com/motokorich/status/1418117623464677379?s=19 https://twitter.com/Tom_Schad/status/1418087811715006466?s=19

A salient point on this, as I am sure lots of people are going to be talking about race, is that while Nichols is a great sideline reporter/feature reporter I never particularly thought she was very good with the Studio stuff.

I thought Malika did a great job especially considered she was thrown on the assignment with basically zero notice. ESPN’s studio show is so terrible in general so I’d be excited to see what some fresh blood would do to help.
