The primary test for CTE in the NFL is testing your pronounciation of words sight unseen when you start playing and then repeating the test later if you want to see if your brain has been turned to mush from head hits If you pronounciation gets worse you can get a payout but if you had trouble with pronouncing the words originally you might not have a measured "decrease" and get nothing Guess what category of player this ends up discriminating against

I got a worse concussion in one of the 2 games of rugby I played in school (for my very plebby comprehensive) than I did when I was knocked off my bike by a car (or probably more accurately didn't look where I was going & t-boned a passing car at a junction). Cool sport. Of course, the teacher asked if I was fine & I said yes because kids are dumb so I just got back up & played on.
