I didn’t realize the left was due to eat itself, but now that I look I guess we must be overdue? Time to punch left while slowly getting swallowed by sea water.

talking about the left eating itself is a mite funny after a few weeks spent watching a not-insignificant number among its cohort just sort of shrug its shoulders at the united states posturing to invade cuba

hre are my thoughts on the new yorker article it identifies cum town as a "flagship product" of the "dirtbag left" lmao it slams chapo for showing "only belated and fitful interest in diversifying itself" while speaking in glowing terms of a different podcast hosted by two white guys? mad that chapo is "discouraging people from voting" even though voting doesnt matter mad at chapo for movie reviews while pleased with know your enemy reviewing an obscure christian movie also the description of know your enemy, "Listening to “Know Your Enemy” can feel like visiting a semi-reclusive friend whose apartment is crammed with out-of-print books, but who always keeps a stash of good bourbon on hand" makes it sound absolutely unbearable lol, although im sure the podcast itself is probably fine

i guess the new yorker fact checkers found support for the claim that chapo cost bernie the primary —— it MUST be true!!

lobster shirt posted:hre are my thoughts on the new yorker article also like there is a lot of overlap in the projects, hell chapo has probably spent orders of magnitude more time “analyzing”/talking about the right in its 500+ episodes than KYE’s back catalog combined and chapo is not squeamish about acknowledging the center left as an enemy

i wonder if the kye hosts knew their quotes were gonna be used in a hit piece their podcast doesn't sound bad or anything, so it's kinda lovely if they get a bunch of negative exposure from chapo fans hate-sharing this article

Wraith of J.O.I. posted:the new yorker attempting to do a takedown/critique of chapo while boosting know your enemy If these people genuinely believe that Warren would have ever endorsed Sanders or that her endorsement would have mattered then they have even worse political instincts than Warren herself. Are they forgetting that she got an 11th hour cash injection from some multimillionaire after she tanked in earlier primaries? How do you read that as anything other than "we want you to stay in the race until Super Tuesday so you pull enough votes away from Sanders to ensure he doesn't win the lion's share of delegates." Like even discounting all the other ridiculous poo poo from earlier in the election cycle that alone tells the tale lol MeatwadIsGod has issued a correction as of 16:19 on Jul 26, 2021 |

the podcast he's pro sounds boring but fine, but mostly it seems like he's just real mad at chapo for being right, being angry about it, and carrying on making a show that he doesn't like? like he complains that they haven't switched things up, while also writing about how they've been talking about "quirky animal facts" and films, and then completely ignoring their side projects in the first part he talks about how "they fulfilled a real need by reflecting peoples anger back at them" or whatever but then complains that they're now being angry and nihilistic, but why was it good for something to be reflecting how people felt in 2016 and not good for it to be reflecting how people feel now? i think he's trying to make a point about how it's not useful, but it's years until the next presidential election, they're right that electoralism is a dead end, and even if it wasn't I have a feeling that the other guys podcast is also not going to pave a path to socialism just because they do more in-depth research and don't swear much or whatever e: also this new political compass sucks quote:This presupposed that American politics consists of a single spectrum, on which Nazi-punching is to the left of civil disobedience and insults are to the left of arguments. But there isn’t just one spectrum; at the very least, there’s a quadrant grid, with policy goals on one axis and temperament on the other. The x-axis ranges from a fully planned economy to anarcho-capitalism; the y-axis ranges from solicitous Socratic dialogue to misanthropic bullying. They vary independently.
