my last car buying experience, their website was like we'll give you $X for your trade in, then in person they offered me 1/6 of what the site said and wouldn't tell me what their financing rate was at all instead trying to get me to lease. so i walked, sold my car on carvana for more than the dealer's trade in and got a rate quote from a bank then went back to the dealer and they beat the rate quote i got by 0.5% so i ended up buying the car from them anyway despite them besmirching my honor with their low ball trade in offer

I mean, I'm pretty sure it's just used as a filtering mechanism to make sure only the "right" people are allowed to apply, much like med school applications, where you spend a couple of grand on applications, and several grand on interviews (if you're lucky and get multiple interviews). Super happy I didn't go down that route. Would've likely hated half my coworkers and most of my patients.

The American experience of going to the doctor is paying fifty to a hundred dollars to an already conspicuously wealthy man so his underpaid nursing staff can do 98% of the work while he asks you the same basic introductory questions he's asked every other visit that he should really know by now because you've been going to him for a decade and they're written on your chart anyway. If there's anything actually wrong with you he refers you to a specialist that you probably already knew you needed to see anyway and just had to go through this because if you don't your insurance will gently caress you even harder than it already will. The entire visit will be as patronizing as possible, and if he tries to make small talk it will be about his boat or some similar unrelatable rich guy thing. Obviously socialized medicine would be so much worse though, just think of the wait times!!

Hearthstone has for the first time since release, 7 years ago, cancelled a reveal stream of its up coming expansions set. The reason? Streamers and employees protesting Activision Blizzard. Just recently a new lawsuit from the state of California has accused Activision Blizzard of massive amount of sexual harassment.
