DO YOU HEAR THAT? THAT'S THE SOUND OF ME PATTING MYSELF ON THE BACK.

I fall asleep every night too the Venture Bros marathon channel in the adult swim app and have for years. It's like a little reward for making it through another day.

This isn't available in Canada and I'm now massively upset.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Everybody who has the DVDs should do themselves a favor and listen to the commentary tracks. Doc and Jackson are insane people and will sometimes talk about the show in between talking about their day, masterbation habits as a child, or something that is only tangentially related ro the show.

Edit: I'm pretty sure in the commentary Doc menrions how the scene with the Alchemist talking about wiping his rear end with cotton balls and getting one stuck to his nose actually happened ro Doc.

Well I mean that kind of thing is so ridiculously specific that it can't possibly come from anything other than personal experience.

Observational humor is all about being able to intuit what experiences of that sort anyone in the audience might have had too

I want to own the last season on dvd but now that I know Dean is a sex pest I am not willing to spend money on it or watch whatever else they put out if they don't replace him (for, say, the movie)

this is the kind of moral dilemma we can have under capitalism, and I know I should just accept no ethical consumption etc but gently caress that

If I ever were to make a TV show or write for one, I would basically be obligated to include the time my brother stabbed me with a spoon or the time my cousin got run over by a golf cart

Oh man, I still love to gleefully share the "grimiest dick in the world" story from those commentaries. And you can also make a hardcore drinking game where you take a shot every time you hear Doc Hammer light another smoke.

How have so many of us found a porn hoard in the woods like 21 did? I did! How did this become so common?

They're working on a series finale *movie*, so while that's not as good as another season or five spread out over the next 20 years, it's better than nothing.

Woodsporn is like a universal experience for the “didn’t grow up with high speed internet” crowd.

As far as random adult swim memories go, I was talking about adult swim stuff at the EMS agency I volunteer at and my medic partner mentioned he used to do some music for their commercials and found one of the songs he did, and holy poo poo it immediately brought back memories of a bunch of their commercials:

People who bought pornographic magazines didn't want the other people in their household finding it. They need a private place outside of their home to store it.

The tl;dr. of the whole saga is this: due to licensing rights with hulu, a lot of new adult swim content could not be produced and be exclusive to hbo max. The only way to get out of the hulu contracts was to cancel the series among others. This freed them to instead make a feature length movie and they will have the ability to freely make spinoffs although there will likely never be another thing called "The Venture Bros" after the movie.

I don't remember what episode it is in, but there's a time that shows 21 having a flashback to his childhood and there's a series of images. One of them was kid 21 in a cub scout uniform finding a box of girlie mags.

Of course, this incident is what the commentary is focused on.

If we're going by St. Elsewhere rules (or whatever that show is called), then, yeah. Bannon's right there. Presumably a youth serum or something, or he just healthy and looks great for his age.

The first episode of HB probably happens 20/30-odd years before Johnny shows up in VB, as he and Haj(?) are still young then and look older now.
