what about truely artificial sounds like stuff from movies/tv or videogames? I'm sure Disney would have opinions on any nerd using starwars spaceship sounds.

This change is to make sure they can actually enforce the existing tax code by, you know, having a proper name and address associated with these accounts.

I have no interest in finding out if beanie babies were or were not taxed, but I don’t know enough about trading things to know if/when/how they are taxed. I did see an article with various government finance people saying that coins backed by securities are securities themselves. But Bitcoin is backed by nothing at all, so it seems like I am missing something. Edit: According to this Forbes article all of it is taxable. It is all capital gains or income (depending on how long you held it) and collectables even have a special capital gains rate, which they specifically call out for NFTs. I guess its just tax evasion all the way down. MickeyFinn fucked around with this message at 23:05 on Aug 4, 2021 |

Trading assets, even if they are not securities, is a taxable event. If I trade you soybeans for corn we have to put a fair market value in dollars on each thing and if it's not the exact same FMV whoever "gained" has to pay taxes on that. If I then hold the corn until it's worth twice as much and sell it/trade it for something else I owe taxes on that 50% "capital gain". The same goes for shitcoins. So people constantly day trading between shitcoins have a massive, massive amount of paperwork to properly report. Or it's tax evasion.

People have to come back every month or so to have them recalibrated. There are also huge issues with determining how much alcohol is actually in someone system using their breath. Some people simply read lower/higher than others and it's very very common. This also does not address any other impairing substances. The state of this technology simply isn't "there" yet.
