Can't wait to golf in New Donk City! Other courses I'd love: - Bob-omb Battlefield - Some weird Mario 2 USA type thing - Luigi's Mansion - Hyrule field And tournament mode. C'mon, Nintendo. Let's get some sort of tournament going before Christmas.

Climbing fast requires avoiding their points, which takes familiarity with their pattern. Honestly as far as 'bullshit no reaction time traps' they rate very low, you're moving very slowly and you can contol the nuts acent as well as jump to avoid them. Also once again most of the things brought up are just going to make you drop your rings, at which point you have invincibility frames to deal with the enemy or whatever and the chance to grab a few of the rings you've dropped. The game is very lenient, if mario gets hit twice in a row he's back to the checkpoint, sonic can just tank hits endlessly as long as you keep grabbing the rings back. People complain about crusher deaths a lot because outside the odd bottomless pit there aren't many ways to just get instakilled in a classic sonic game. Even lava just makes you drop rings.

I'm looking forward to fully completing it, something I don't often feel.

It might seem like a weird premise because we only talk about the games that aged okay to great So much useless noise in between the gems, hastily cobbled software that literally becomes technically irrelevant within a few years. Sure a video game is more than a sum of all its parts but you'll never catch me going back to play the dozens of licensed SNES movie / cartoon tie-in platformers or *shudders* the original breath of fire 2 release on snes

The best Sonic game is Sonic Generations (not including the bosses and weird padding levels they added.) Modern and Classic Sonic both go fast, but you can go faster if you follow the right paths, and since there's a time trial mode (with online times, iirc) so you can see how fast everybody else goes, too.
