You get the node in the last day, but can't access it until the postgame. Appropriately enough, really.

W1D5, almost guarantee it. When using the Replay function and going back to the Scramble Crossing, the Deep River guys there want a password. Get it wrong and you have to use Fret's Remind on them.

Note there are a few days you will have to redo if you want to complete that boss's drop log, as said fights don't have boss noise versions even after getting that social link. Fortunately there aren't too many of those days.

They basically shred the game to bits. Though a few bosses will punish mindless use of them, that won't be the experience most of the time.

Finishing up the pin grind and holy poo poo, so many of these lategame and postgame pins are hilariously fun. They dump so many fun toys on you at the end of the game. :unsmigghh:

Araxxor posted:

Best places to grind for money in the post-game? Because these loving pins in that rich people's store costs millions of yen! It's the last place that has the threads I need to complete the thread list, and it's going to bankrupt me.

As it turns out, the answer to this question and the question "where is the best place to grind for PP" is Cat Street in Another Day. The pufferfish noise are the ones you want to grind for money, as they drop 100k yen pins on Ultimate (and the blue noise here is a pufferfish noise, so you can string together a chain for millions of yen easily.) while the scorpion noises are far safer for PP grinding. Make sure to stack all the Jinxed Point Boosters you can for massive PP increases. A 6 stack nearly triples the PP gain, saving a ton of time for pin grinding. And fortunately while the benefits stack, the penalty doesn't, so it's always 25% HP no matter how many you use.

Also fun little thing about Another Day in this game: it’s set in the same alternate universe as the last one (Neku and Beat mention their shared love of Tin Pin Slammer near the start, also Rhyme mentions being a spy during the optional dive into her mind).

It’s a lot shorter than the one In the first game was though (or at least it felt that way to me).

Okay Another Day question: Obviously this Def March isn't the old one with 777 cuz he's dead, but they put a lot of effort into that art of them. Is it a reference to something? Like is it animated versions of the people who would do live versions of TWEWY songs at SE concerts or w/e?

It definitely is. No game spanning subquest like Tin Pin and doing a few boss rematches definitely ends up a lot shorter than TWEWY's Another Day.

On the other hand, the maingame is way way beefier than the original's maingame, so it evens out.

All the other teams mentioned they died, so they were actually dead.

All of the rival teams (the DRS, the VBs, and the PHs) are all actually dead, yes. Motoi mentions having died over a year ago, and a social network entry implies that at least one member of the Variabeauties died over six months ago.

The Shinjuku Reapers' Game, as it stands now, is basically a horror movie!

The Death March is an actual IRL band headed up by Takeharu Ishimoto that plays remixes of songs he's composed, including those from TWEWY. The art used in-game is from their album.

The other two are endgame spoiler answers, but Hanekoma is on the higher plane’s poo poo list for improving Sho’s Taboo graffiti during the last week of the original TWEWY as part of his efforts to cover every base to keep Joshua from pulling the trigger on Shibuya.

Ha. Well gently caress. I knew I was going to go crazy trying to make sure I won the 1st Scramble slam so I just decided to go through it with my normal pin setup instead of trying to maximize beats for every fight. I ended up less than 700 points shy of 60k. And that's because I did one 5 chain turf noise battle on Easy because I forgot to turn it back up after getting the Easy T-Rex drop. :negative:

The boss fights aren’t even all that much harder than they were the first time around either (it’s just the final forms of all 3 Ruinbringers plus Ayano)

Also out of curiosity, if Sho isn’t in your party when you take on the superboss do you get a different cutscene beforehand?

Just Cram It

Question for people who have tinkered with the scrambles, is it better to go with multiple weak pins to build up combo and a strong one for multikills, or to go with your strongest set for general damage and better fusions? I'm trying the second one and while y have around 70k on the first zone (and not even finished) I'd like to get to 600k ASAP son I don't have to be doing 10+ chains all the time.

Is there a source for where to find which pins? Only thing left after a few minor things is to collect and transform them and I'm still missing like, 50 I wanna say?
I hate that I can't just highlight stuff like "when the rain falls down" and have the game tell me where I got it.

Wait till you can play on Ultimate and build the biggest chain you can. Leave the area, re-enter it so all the noise comes back. Build the chain again for the next fight. You'll have like triple what you actually need for top prize at the end of it. I just used it as a excuse to level up random pins.

Edit: I know the general recommendation is to skip unlocking threads from the Social thing, but I did get the nails accessory, which is insane early on with so much Attack. Are there any other unlockable threads that are such a huge upgrade early on?

I liked the direction they went with Motoi. I was expecting to find out that even Rindo's time travel couldn't save him, but revealing his true colors with more context each time you go back was a really cool twist. Plus Rindo panicked for no reason and Motoi just gets back up anyway!

That's a valid point with hindsight. I didn't necessarily see that as foreshadowing considering Kanon is nothing but friendly to you while her members were all dicks, unless that's also foreshadowing

Speaking of foreshadowing, regarding the first week's final boss. Those white antlers are meant to portray he's got Plague noise in him, like with Sho and Taboo noise? I'm only on w3d2 so a yes, no or irrelevant is fine
