Didn't even bother giving it a legendary model, it's basically just a different paint highlight job. Gotta laugh at the 'can equip dual cannons' on a turn of 5. Pretty clear they think it's 'Scimitar pack with some extra poo poo thrown in to round it out'. Presumably because the Scimitar always sold well and the D'D is barely used by anyone, which of course must be because nobody wants to fly a D'Deridex and not because it's borderline unusable. If there's any sort of space for people to do whatever in the detached sections they would have to beam over from somewhere else 'cause I don't think it would be terribly safe/efficient for people to have to do EVA suit up 184 times a day. Unless the suit itself is a force-field or some other thing.

Borticus doesn't actually list the new stats so it's entirely possible that the buff doesn't do as much as is needed. I also wish they'd move the temp ops seat to the science or one of the universal seats. As it currently is, you can't run recursive shearing I and beam overload III at the same time, which hurts.

Well... it's an improvement. Honestly the inertia is probably the most important change, it was weirdly sluggish before, on par with poo poo like the original scimitar or the borg ship.

Yeah it was never going to go above the Galaxy's 6. They still both should have a hanger on account of being big slow ships with lots of internal space, but whatever.

Just make everyone's dream ship with 8 frontal weapons, nil aft and a turn rate of 1. The design? Just get a plastic ruler, turn it sideways and stick a nacelle each end.

A slower ship would maybe be worth it if it had something over a faster ship, but that's just not the case. It's just less fun to pilot. Like maybe if a big slow moving ship actually had some mechanic advantages vs a faster zippy ship. Doubly so when you expect people to loving pay money for it. Stat-wise I'm not sure why everyone doesn't simply fly flight deck carriers since they do everything well with minimum effort. Wait I know what it is. Aside from the promo box miracle enterprise they're all hideous.

Not this endless parade of butt ugly Discovery garbage. So, let's see... a novelty trait that, while I do like the gimmick, uses a power that's not featured on many ships (Tractor Beam), and a kind of interesting trait to mechanically capitalize on Ambush (which lots of people use). Not the worst, but not something most people would spend $80 STObux on, especially with the dilithium exchange crisis.

Can't slot enough traits to make any new ones particularly appealing unless they're power creep. Yet new traits are one of the key draws to ship sales. Game design!

So today I bit the bullet and bough Yamato-class since I wanted A) T6 hull, B) go back to caribean booze cruisers from escorts and C) wanted something with a hangar to play around with fighters. Its still the stupid 3-nacelle galaxy but at least it looks nicer than the Terran empire-one and with few edits it looks acceptable as "galaxy with a sort of flight deck" in my mind. Since I used my earlier leftovers to unlock 2B EC limit, my next thing is the experimental ship unlock token from Exchange. Like said earlier, I was also looking for the recon 1 bundle to get another ship for my red team-alt, but decided against taking lafayette since it looks like science/tactical and if I understood correctly it plays like escort since it is a destroyer and can equip dual cannons? So my actual question is, what should I watch out for, for the next ship bundle T6 if they ever go to sale? The next one needs to be a crossfaction or team red (preferably crossfaction) since I want to also do the red-team run, with tactical captain since my main is an engineer. Dental filled up again, so I went through and kicked any low-rank alts that had a last login date before 2018. When it fills up again I'll probably take it up to 2019. If anyone who got kicked needs back in, just ask in chat. Also, stop putting quotation marks in your comments because Cryptic doesn't escape them properly in the CSV and it takes forever for me to manually fix it.

At the moment it seems like STD stuff is still being pushed hard and since it's pretty much all hideous I filter it all out. Hopefully some actually good looking hulls are present in Picard season 2 that get imported to STO. There are some really good classic ships that get overlooked if you want cross faction something. The really old KDF ships (with modern skins) were well liked for having good turn rates and excellent layouts in an era before that was generally a thing. Avoid Romulan anything with a singularity core though. The power loss is absolutely not worth it unless going all-in for a kinetic build. Sorry about that folks, I didn't yell enough about singularity cores being arse during early playtesting. Look they had their uses back then so it kind of made sense, okay? It was a long time ago! Unrelated - I refreshed the special projects and didn't steal all the credits from filling in the fleet marks from co-ordinate colonization efforts. Have it it, you wild people you. I would loving love this - first because it’s closer to the actual spirit of Star Trek and second because it would be the first time in over a year a player character would have any actual agency in the game’s story. Ironically The Old Republic, as a BioWare-lite RPG, gets closer to doing TNG-style Space Diplomacy than STO does. It’s a very big missed opportunity.
