But this statement can't be true as Vince isn't a wrestling fan.

I'm not making a fucking QCS thread for this but seriously can we take a harder stance on Kiwifarms freaks like this guy, Jesus Christ seriously, you used to be better at knocking these creeps down. I guess ADTRW mods aren't responsible like GBS mods are.
It's NXT's fault that RAW and Smackdown has been bleeding viewers for the last several years.

It's ONLY because they have good booking, an all-star roster, push wrestlers the fans want to see, and consistently show great matches. SO unfair.

Also at the same time it doesn't matter because they're not competition anyway.

Also at the same time it doesn't matter because you're all just marks.

Also at the same time ratings don't prove anything (unless we're winning and then they totally do).

I don't buy the "casual fans don't like flippy acrobats blah blah blah" argument.

If you're channel surfing without knowing much about wrestling you're way more likely to stop after you saw Rey Fenix do some insane, gravity defying stuff than if you saw two huge muscle dudes going through the paces.

Even two great workers doing some chain wrestling doesn't have the same "oh poo poo" factor that's going to make someone hang around to see what happens next.

I wonder how many people got hooked in on WCW by the luchadors on the undercard and hung around to see the other stuff.

they just work backwards from whatever WWE places importance on. that's the stuff that must be the draw for casual fans and anything else is not, because WWE is the most successful wrestling company in the world!

Right, that's why I referred to WWE and its fandom as a cargo cult.

"If we just do (blank) the glory days will return."

It's not any more useful than building a replica of an airplane out of palm fronds or whatever. A lot more goes into making it actually work than an empty shell that looks vaguely similar.

i think it's easy for people posting here to forget that wwe will always have the loyal fans no matter what they do. it used to be 3 million people and now it's a little under a million, but they'll always have them. when people stop being loyal fans they aren't counted as loyal fans any longer so the loyal fans are always watching.

Enough that Michael Bochicchio was able to build Highspots on (in large part) the back of being THE U.S.-based source for lucha libre masks, including guys on WCW TV. I've never really talked to Michael about it, but I probably should, since there's a really fascinating "what if?" conversation in there.

The WCW mix of Lucha style highspots with big personalities up top was a great mix for casual fans while not annoying hard-core fans. But sadly they couldn't stop the main eventers from burying the cruiserweight and whelp...

I dunno what it takes to willfully look as stupid as that reply. WWE looks like an eyesore and TNA looks cheap as all poo poo. AEW at least for my taste has the ideal wrestling presentation.

I think they meant to say WWE had a bad show that week which led to people checking out the competition?

It's still weird in the context of the argument they're making, but it's slightly less nonsensical.
