Yeah, air travel is something else that needs to go. Maybe if you could generate some kind of carbon-neutral fuel, like extracting the CO2 from the air and processing it into fuel oil. At least you'd have net 0 carbon emissions.

But it takes a lot of energy to create hydrocarbons from CO2, and you end up emitting a lot of CO2 to create the necessary tools. We need to get nuclear fusion online STAT to generate the electricity to create the fuel to fly my rear end to Paris for the next climate summit.

If you have unlimited clean energy at your disposal (which we do but lol) you can just electrolyze as much as hydrogen and oxygen as you want for some cool carbon free (but big) jets. Or move to battery powered, slightly slower propeller powered planes.

you can't believe how well dogs have it in some parts of europe. they're first class members of society. stray dogs do not exist. almost every single dog is a pure breed, most with papers. like i said, you can take your dog to the movie theater or on the train with you no problem. so it's illegal for the same reason crating a 5 year old is illegal. although actually i think i was wrong about the country i live in, but it is illegal in several others here.

i also just looked it up and there are several taxi services here in my city that will gladly take dogs if you need to for instance take a sleepy big dog home from the vet

that's still kind of weird, some dogs really like being in crates, it's their comfort zone, especially when they are anxious. Greyhounds are crated constantly on the track so it's a natural transition.

I wish my city had the carsharing where you just park it anywhere, instead of only in fixed lots. we only have two companies here as well. there are three lots within about 1.5 miles, but they only have four cars total lol

can't believe I've been taking my car (7.5 miles away, 10 min drive) to see my parents instead of our wonderful transit options

walk to bus stop
wait for bus
ride bus a couple stops
get off and walk to another bus stop
wait for bus
ride bus for 15 minutes

walk 1.5 miles (lmao, just imagining this in a minnesota winter), btw this is in a suburb so it's very hostile to pedestrians

total time 70 minutes

oh and if you want to leave after 11:30 pm, the next transit option isn't until 4:30 am

Carbon neutral algae biofuel could probably work eventually and attracted a lot of speculative investment cash for a while. Then people realized they can just keep burning normal jet fuel for way cheaper and the money dried up. Maybe in 20 years, assuming investing is still a thing then.

wrt cars people traded a lot of nice land and forest for parking lots and tacky McMansions. Good deal.

This is the worst waste of gas, at the end of the race you're back where you started. If you absolutely have to race, get a horse and pump it full of steroids.

Bonus: if you lose, you can eat it and your balls will get a lot smaller from all the roided' out meat you'll be eating. Then you'll be more aerodynamic for the next horse. Repeat until you win.
