How can you function? I went through a couple episodes of syncope one day, a week or so after heart surgery. I dropped into atrial fibrillation and my blood pressure bottomed out, Happened three times in half an hour one day. First time I was standing over the toilet to change a wound dressing. Next thing I know, I'm punching the wall over the toilet tank while I'm collapsed in the corner. Second one was while sitting on the bed, trying to figure out what happened and explain it to my wife. She said that, mid-word, I pitched forward & head-butted the dresser. Freaked her right out. I was supposed to go out for a drive that day; instead, I wound up back in the hospital. It took a few months before I stopped worrying about it happening while driving. Never happened again but, drat. the thought of trying to live like this...
