Sincerely, thank you! Its always fun to see how my memory syncs or differs from the actual thing I remember. The nonsense lyrical line I remember almost perfectly.

In a bit of coincidence, this is the description on the YouTube video you shared: It's Summer 1991 and I'm living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I'm driving around one day and hear this incredibly silly, yet catchy, song. Of course, the radio station never mentioned the name of the song or the artist so all I carried in my head for twenty years was "Can you see what I'm saying"? Finally found it. Enjoy - it'll make you smile.

Simone Magus posted:

When you say it was a comedy/ novelty song, do you mean like, actual "comedy" music (like Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer) or was it like, you know, King Missile?

Even after hearing the actual song again I can't answer this question! Its neither, and also both. 2NU is a really interesting project and I'm not surprised this caught my ear even as a child.

Trying to remember that song with the 'not forgotten- you're not forgotten' chorus with a female singer I used to hear all the drat time in the 90s.

I'm racking my brain trying to remember a song/album from 2009 or 2010. It was called Fantasy and was this electronic/kinda funk song with a chorus that had a high pitched talk box going "Fantasy, Fantasy." The cover was a headshot of the artist and IIRC he looked like Katt Williams.

Listen, I've been around a bit, you know, and I thought I'd seen some creepy things go on in the movie business, but I really have to say this is the most disgusting thing that's ever happened to me.
I lost all my playlists when I nuked google music.

There is a band, and I believe they are Korean, who released a song called "Tinnitus". The signing is mostly non english, but it includes the chorus "it's me", possibly "hi, it's me". I remember that it's actually a song about depression according to the artist, and I cannot loving find it and am sort of tilted.

edit: and like that I found it, "Nell"

Heard a song at a bar the other night that I want to find.

- House track
- The vocals were a man's voice, not singing but more talking rhythmically to the song
- It reminded me a lot of this song, the overall vibe of it and the rhythm of the vocals https://youtu.be/kWNHvIt9ryk
- Everything else the dj played was very mainstream/hit stuff so it probably isn't super obscure

I'm trying to figure out a song that has a high-pitched (male?) voice singing "[we'll] Go on forever" or maybe "Gone forever" repeated in the chorus or maybe just at the end. The 'on' syllable is a higher note, held for about three beats, and the song is ~80 bpm. The song itself is mellow, but not too sad as I recall.

It is not Dennis Wilson's "Forever", unless it's some arrangement with an added part. I had almost thought it could be that as it sort of fits with the mood of the song, and the vocals made me think of the Beach Boys.

It's not Richard Sanderson's "Go On Forever".

It is not Lewis Capaldi's "Forever" either.

I heard it playing at a Peet's (coffee tea and spice shop) but it sounded pretty familiar, like I've probably heard it on the radio at some point.

The only alternate Beach Boys versions of Forever is a 1990s one with John Stamos singing and an acapella version with a longer vocal tag. YouTube has both Brian and Carl singing it at concerts.

It wasn't the Stamos version, and not Queen either. I tried a search with singing a bit and the best hit I got was this song in Portuguese:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2VS1rgeHww

That isn't it, but the melody vaguely resembles the part I recall at ~ 1:30. The song I heard was kind of like this in style but maybe not quite so cheesy (and no guitars that were that noticeable).

It's also possible the lyrics were "[go] on together" or maybe even "belong together" if I misheard it.

I would like to know the name of the band that did this song.

it's called I feel alive (I will survive). I found an aiff of it in my mp3 folder last night. it has no metadata, just a thumbnail of the album art that's too small to make out. I don't know where it came from, but it's been in there like 10 years.

Trying to ID a snippet that’s been in my head for about a year now. I made a very poor go at it in GarageBand:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/9keghdtopf3xgg3/earworm.mp3?dl=0

It’s not the Brooklyn 99 theme (or The Ides of March by Vehicle, where the B99 horns come from). It has an Ocean’s Eleven/Snatch soundtrack feel but I’ve rewatched those and it’s not there. The guitar is more bow-wikka-chukka in my head than I could get in GB. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Aarrggh, this is gonna drive me crazy because I feel like I simultaneously know exactly the song you mean but also feel like it could be one of a billion vaguely similar songs from that era. It might be something by a band along the lines of The Cardigans or The Sundays but, more likely, a one-hit wonder (e.g. Kiss Me by Sixpence None The Richer but less famous).

My first instinct was actually The Incidentals by Alisha's Attic. I'd guess no, but I'd kick myself if it was and I didn't suggest it.
