I did it. I got a covid test. 2.2 miles from me is the hospital, and they have their urgent care people setup to swab noses in the hospital's parking garage. I can't imagine that these doctors and nurses went to school expecting to work in an exhaust filled garage, but here we are. I will find out tomorrow, I guess?

But with all of the other options squelched out, anything new has to sequentially mutate out of delta now. That being said, SARS-CoV-2 appears to mutate rapidly under the right selective pressures, and we've already seen mutations go completely global before (although maybe convergently) like D614G. Luckily we are definitely taking strong action worldwide and are going to wipe delta out before it has a chance to mutate.
