Assful chaps. I don't have an image to share with the thread, but the skink-with-tiddies reappeared on the Facebook "Warhammer The Old World" group I'm on and I'm seriously reconsidering even bothering with that game. I just want my Clock-Punk, Gryphons and Gunpowder back.

I really like it, and it goes down well with most people I have introduced it to. The only group who seemed a bit mixed on it are I think people who prefer the more predictable flow of a euro game, so were maybe a bit turned off by the randomised elements. Also there was this one guy who didn't seem capable of getting over the fact that some pieces were painted and others were grey plastic. I'd only had the game a few weeks but he kept coming back to it for some reason. Anyway, it is a very solid dungeon crawler that forces you to move tricky choices while praying to the fickle and cruel dice gods. There is quite a bit of randomisation built in to help with replayability, which can make some games easier or harder depending on which cards are drawn from turn to turn. I like that you don't know what is coming next, some people might not. The whole thing is about making your way through the mission trying not to get too beat up before making it to the boss fight. There is a clock ticking which means that taking too long makes the final fight harder, but not taking time to heal up could drop you into a fight you can't handle.

Didn't take me as long as I thought, but I did have to psych myself up for that tray. In other news "alternate Imperial Guard" for Star Wars Legion. For the time line where Palpatine wanted more eye candy and to be surrounded by light sabre wielders I guess.

Reminds me of one of my favorite pieces of military history. During the 100 years war there was a battle where the majority of the English army was sick with dysentery, which causes uncontrollable diarrhea. So what did all those longbowmen do? They went into battle without pants, so they could freely blast rear end in place while letting loose volleys of arrows. There are even some reports that they would dip their arrows in their own poo poo as a kind of biological warfare. So that's my head canon for this guy, he has the shits real bad so he removed the back piece of his armor so to not be held back by aggressive diarrhea in battle.
