And the mercy seat is awaiting,
And I think my head is burning,
And in a way I'm yearning,
To be done with all this measuring of proof.
An eye for an eye
And a tooth for a tooth,
And anyway I told the truth,
And I'm not afraid to die.

You find a new favourite thing every time you read it, my current is Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose being two who made it before Punk. Two men whose WWE debut was in an angle for CM Punk during his year long title reign.

I'm pretty sure it was first said by Kevin Nash about WCW's Cruiserweight division.

Kevin Nash iirc in describing Jericho, Benoit, Eddie, etc. I actually recently watched some shoot where he regretted using the term but the sentiment remains the same.

Not to compare the booking of the two, but Punk could never "expose the business" even close to the way Russo did in late-era WCW.

I love that Russo thought he was being a big meta genius with all that poo poo when instead he just looked like a jackass.

A grown man wrestling a blow up doll is more meta and respectable than Vince Russo's booking.

People complaining about a man showing emotion at AEW who also held up the "It's still real to me, dammit" guy as an icon certainly is a vibe.

Same for if Flair or WALTER were to debut with their themes.

I think on some level I'll never accept Ride of the Valkyries as his song. Final Countdown forever.

Europe wanted an absolutely crazy amount of money from ROH when ROH wanted to to license it. We'll see if AEW can do better.
