It's funny. She throws a fit when she's getting shaved and then acts like a completely different, happier and more playful cat once it's done. And she snuggled all night because naked I think snuggle time counts as time served thankfully

Lulu really sheds a lot (oh god the amount of fur I get from the furminator is horrific and it KEEPS COMING) and being that she's large and getting older she has a difficult time grooming her rear. I sometimes think about shaving her but at the same time, it never gets really hot here in San Francisco and I don't want her to be cold

Think Brazilian, but for cats. They charge in 15 minute blocks for vet grooming where I go and it's worth it for me because Widget HATES anything coming near that area. I have taken her for a professional groom and shave before, but I prefer to DIY because it's only 15 minutes of A Bad Time for both of us rather than a couple of hours and $60 for similar results. She will definitely have a bit of a shock sitting down on bare surfaces at first because cold surface on bare skin but the sanitary shave is 100% worth it for older or fat cats who don't do great with keeping they b-hole clean

Adopted Sundae 9 years ago today. She immediately poo poo on the couch. Her original name was Jamaica, which I assume was short for Jamaica Me Crazy because god drat she can be annoying sometimes. I love her to death though.
