I really doubt this has anything to do with them keeping DJ Moore long term. Having a solid #2 WR is necessary and you can't count on rookies no matter how great they look in practice. This is even more important when your starting QB is Sam Darnold.

Before the draft I was telling my dad that I would rather take a lineman but the only way I could see Chase not being a good receiver is if he mentally collapses. *Tugs collar* LOT of smoke. In addition to the lost opportunity the top 5 pick represents there's basically no plan b to stretch the field if Chase doesn't work out.
