Because of when you get Thane in the story, your first conversation with him will have the romance options appear already after it.

So it's possible to reply to him talking about his wife dying with the "I want you".

Man, the soundtrack in these Final Fantasy pixel remasters have blown me away. The tracks are all so good! Plus I appreciate little touches like actually giving boss themes to the bosses in FF1, or how, in FF3, when you're miniaturized the battle & victory themes are miniaturized into adorable all-woodwind renditions.

Cyberpunk 2077 has a lot of issues, even after the new patch, but as an old Cyberpunk 2020 player, there are a ton of neat little things. The rock station's DJ is Mike Pondsmith, the creator of the tabletop game, and in between songs like "Chippin' In" and "Never Fade Away" (which I've always known as just snippets of lyrics in a rulebook, so actually hearing them as real songs is cool), he talks about life in Night City and weird pseudo-conspiracies (like how Trauma Team, the emergency medical company, will keep you on ice and harvest your organs if you can't pay your bills). Keanu Reeves is actually pretty good as an angry narcissistic Rockerboy - he's the hero of the story because he's Johnny loving Silverhand and you're just some punk-rear end body he's stuck in. The 2023 flashback was so good - my favorite bit was pulling out a big 1980s-looking cyberdeck (guess when the tabletop game originally came out?) to hack something instead of the sleek all-internal dataports-and-cables method of the '70s (give me a '20s dlc, cowards). Everything in Night City is loud and neon and plastered with corporate logos and it's just perfect. I also like the open-world DX-like gameplay. When things don't bug out, it's actually sometimes pretty good at that - creeping around warehouses, taking over/disabling cameras, distracting guards to sneak by them (or knock them out), reading everybody's emails, that sort of thing.

(side note: I don't like "immersive sim" as a genre name because it isn't very descriptive, no I don't care that Warren Spector came up with it; "0451" doesn't mean anything if you don't already know what it means; "DX-like" is only a little better than "0451," but "first-person-perspective games where you can fight, sneak, or sometimes talk your way through an encounter/mission" is still too clunky)

It's too bad things start falling apart as soon as you poke around the edges a bit (or just play the game normally because there are still a ton of bugs/glitches/suddenly-fly-hundreds-of-feet points all over the game), but that's a post for the other thread.

I can see a really, really awesome and amazing game deep under all the crud that CP2077 is saddled with and that makes me even more sad than if it was just crud top to bottom, yeah. It's still fun enough to play, and I'll likely grab it sometime down the line when all's said and done and there's a complete edition on steam for 75% off at christmas or something.

I bought CP2077 on release and never had any problems with it

It has a fantastic story and a killer ending and the 1.3 patch just dropped which is supposed to clean up a lot of the problems some people were still having.

true, my bad, there's no base building but you do unlock additional weapons and mods and troop types and stuff as you go through missions, so it's still got a sense of that campaign progression element to it. :shobon:

It's pretty fun, but when you get at a high enough level, you can just breathe on the enemy and they explode. (Especially when you realize that you can access the panels and THEN blow them up)

If Psychonauts 1 was a kooky Cartoon Network show then Psychonauts 2 is a looney tunes/Pixar movie.

I love the fact that noone treats Raz with kid gloves,to them he’s just an annoying ten year old who keeps making a ten year olds mistakes, also as i progress more and more of the old characters are coming in and i am DYING to see Bobby Zilch.

I love the introduction of Raz's family halfway through the plot. Just the messages piling up were amazing. "Razputin, you have a guest, please report for the front desk." "Razputin, you have two guests, please report to the front desk." "Razputin you have a lot of guests and they are causing a disturbance, please get to the front desk NOW!" Raz: "Oh no...."

It was very impressive although i was worried at first that the game was leaning too heavily on flashy set pieces, but having played for longer now those fears are put to rest.
The exploration, the plot, the silly arse jokes and comedy are even better than the first game.
