Very much this. I played in beta, and mostly dropped when ghost heat arrived. I popped back in for a few rounds every few years, never was impressed. I tried again in January-ish, and holy drat, the game was fun again.

btw here is roughly what I'm running in the CN9-A

Lead with your right shoulder, then switch to your big left shield arm when that gets blown off. The basics of it are the SRM6As and deadside, but the rest of it is up for consideration. You could lower the engine to fit a STD, replace the MLs with SPLs or SLs or an LPPC or a SNPPC, add a heat sink or two in place of the AMS, etc. This thing is a great bully and can take down snipey assaults easily if you're up on your twisting.

Afaik these ones are actually kinda-sorta true, in that each BAP or ECM set to counter will counter one enemy ECM and so if there are overlapping ECMs you need an equal number of counters to cancel out the ECM effect. But the actual ECM effect is the same whether there's one ECM or a whole team of them.

Yeah, I was gonna say...unless they radically chsnged ECM while I was away, that's how it works. ECCM counters 1 ECM, so if you have 2 overlapping ECMs and 1 ECCM the ECM bubble persists.

Oh god I don't even remember, I think it came out in like 2015 or something. IIRC though it only had like 4 hardpoints and they were all energy so the general move was to slap some lasers and/or an ERPPC in there with an XL300 and a couple jump jets and run around like a maniac. It wasn't a spectacular mech but it was a flying cicada which was fun.

e: I have not played MWO in a very long time though so I have no idea how those weapons are today.

Cicadas are definitely one of the mechs I hate to play against most so have at it. I've seen one guy do disgusting things with a few LLs.

Its not ideal but I think vipers get 7.5 tons for guns at max armor

WIth the C you can shove an erpeep in the CT and get something with -all- the jet oomph. Edit: I checked and the C has only 1 slot, so it has to go in the side torsos

That might scratch the itch too

Is it my rig, or does the main game menu just run like garbage? It takes forever to load, and then takes forever to do anything.

The game is very fun again when I'm stomping around lasering everyone, but any time I'm switching 'mechs or wanting to look at my 'mech in the bay it's a nightmare.

The game isn't the most hyperoptimized thing, but it isn't bad enough to be noticeable at all on my end. It's likely something with you.

Thanks. I'll see if I can find the cause. None of my other games run like that, so maybe I just need to reinstall the client.

I think there is a shader cache directory that can be removed? Also if you customized the cryengine.ini (?) file that can all be removed.

Most of the poo poo in the menus is sever auth'd for some reason so if your connection to PGI's servers isn't fantastic, the menus will be laggy, no matter how fast your computer is.

Remove the active probe, it's literally a waste of tonnage because sensors are not important in mwo.
