Hurricanes often get stronger at night due to cooling of cloud tops, with Ida moving so slowly and being over marshy areas that are already inundated with warm ocean water, I wouldn't be surprised if it's strengthening a bit and that's why we are seeing this sudden uptick in catastrophe after nightfall.

From what I'm hearing and reading, it sounds like Katrina v2.0 is starting to unfold in NOLA.

Amateur storm chasers are the biggest fuckin morons.

I took a spotting class in HS for fun and our instructors told us that amateur chasers are some of the biggest fuckin dangers out in rural areas, because they'll sit and block the road while they take pics, and make it harder for people trying to get out of dodge to actually do so.

Considering a few of the people in the class wanted to be chasers, there was a lot of arguing.
