No poll, just an analysis of publicly available cagematch data with some heavy weighting from Meltzer stars.

This was the first Chocopro show I watched (hell, the first wrestling show I watched in years) and seeing a campatriot (AKARI) wrestle was the cherry on the sunday of fun wrestling. Consider me a fan now.

Which other Chocopro shows/matches are considered either essential or just plain fun?

SNATTER'S ALIVE?!?!
There really aren't a whole lot of Choco episodes that are boring, just from the nature of the cast.

Any time you see a single-match episode in its description, it's going to be good, as it's something of importance and all involved go all-out.

If you go way back to ChocoPro #44, you get to see the start of the Lulu's Hat saga, the beginning of her extended feud with Chris Brookes. The first storyline culminates in CP #63, the Pencil War, in which an I Quit match pits the Pencil Army (Lulu Pencil and Emi Pencil) against Brookes and Yunamon, with Lulu's pink hat (a symbol of her ability to actually be a wrestler more than anything else) at stake. The feud would evolve over time, with Brookes actually joining the Pencil Army and then becoming History's Greatest Monster, culminating in an amazing 30-minute ironman match at CP #137.

(As the thread title indicates, Lulu is currently in America and will make her US debut (as a valet) this evening accompanying Emi Sakura. But it is well worth digging through the archives to view her development and greatness. This is, after all, someone who is still looking for her first singles win after 100+ matches, someone who's tapped out to her own backslide, someone whose lariats hurt her more than the opponent.)

#122 is a five-team tag gauntlet match, excellent for introducing you to many of the regular cast of characters and friends.

ChocoPro #53, Mei Suruga vs Ryo Mizunami
#89 with Mizunami vs Yuna Mizumori and best of all ASUKA & Emi Sakura vs Best Bros
The Masa Takahashi Produce show from 13/7 is tremendous, Masa vs Abe, Neo Biishiki-gun vs Emi & Yuna, and Brookes & Sakaguchi vs Akki & Fujita

And that's without touching on the Brookes Lulupencil glory

Any show with a Best Bros. match should have at least some good to great wrestling on it. There's a reason why they're so dominant, they just out class every tag team in terms of effort and skill. Never seen them phone it in.

Antonio Honda's matches with Lulu or Mei tend to be very good as he has the best chemistry with those two.

If you liked the last show, check out the Halloween and New Year's Specials.

The two big Pencil Army matches (110 and 120) are great as well. 110 being in my opinion the most ChocoPro match to ever exist. All your favourite Chocolate Square spots come in for a huge party.

Start a Create-a-Wrestler.
Put Heart to its maximum. Boost Charisma very high. Now move all of the offensive stats to the minimum, and add a pink hat and overalls.

That's her gimmick; she is the epitome of Emi Sakura's "anyone can be a wrestler" philosophy of training. She's built like a wet noodle and hits almost as hard as one, but she wants to be a pro wrestler more than anything else and she's so determined to persevere and become a good one.

But she's not just a one-note comedy act. Her character is slowly becoming more effective over time; she learns some moves and traits from her partners, she figures out what she can do that's useful and adds it to her arsenal, and she's become much, much harder to put away. Her gradual evolution has been marvelous storytelling.

CHOCOPRO #150: ALL OUT WEEKEND: 3 DATES IN CHOCOLATE SQUARE: DAY 1
WATCH LIVE ON YOUTUBE HERE
Time: 10am (JST) / 2am (BST) / 6pm (PDT) / 9pm (EDT)

Below is Super Fan Dogglesnake's match guide for tonight from Reddit. Found HERE

quote:

Sayaka's Singles: Masa Mischief!

Sayaka VS Masa Takanashi

The Beautiful Cosplayer, Sayaka has been proving herself against intimidating opponents... including the alluring (and ruthless) Makoto! While she might not have been able to bring down Chie (yet), she is definitely working to improve. Sayaka's incredible striking power is her biggest strength (among many great qualities), considering those forearms sound like gunshots. Her technical ability is growing as well, with our resident gamer & model starting to dabble in complicated submissions and tricky pins. Sayaka also has an edge that many of the Fourth Generation lack: she is able to enter the same unflinching emotional state that PSYCHO and Hagane Shinno can! Only Sayaka's is even more frightening, given she simply stays cheery no matter the danger level of the bout she is in. (“I'm gonna kill you! Yayyyyy!”) That unattached joy might eventually be the stuff of legends! Don't forget, Sayaka hangs out around Minoru Suzuki and lives to tell the tale! This photogenic phenom is on the rise, keep an eye on her!

The Drunken Brawler, Masa Takanashi, has been working his rear end off lately! The other half of Calamari Drunken Kings finally returned to active status in Ichigaya on the “I Only Live Twice” Special! (Another highly advised viewing experience) DDT's workhorse, Masa had been sidelined with injury for most of the duration of the ChocoPro series. This skilled brawler with a fascinating unique wrestling technique that includes fighting game style fancy footwork (and a deep appetite for alcohol!) is one of the most exciting combatants to watch! Masa is the main pillar (and President) of Gatoh Move, the person that has always been there to support Emi Sakura even when times are tough! Now he is in charge while Emi is away...and it seems that he has tasked himself with personally assessing the progress of the Fourth Generation. As it was with Chie & Otoki, this bout is going to be a challenging task for Sayaka due to Masa's unpredictable way of moving and fluid counters. But how will he handle that striking ability? Hopefully the Rookie brings with her a game plan that will catch him off guard, which is easier said than done!

A Loud Echo! Can the Best Bros win again?

Best Bros (Mei Suruga & Baliyan Akki) VS Yunamon & Chie Koishikawa

Right there! The Best Bros return to action! Baliyan Akki, the Zephyr of Ichigaya and Ace of the Promotion, is as talented as they come. With breezy strike combos, effortless high flying, flowing submissions, and a mane of wild hair, Akki makes a great first impression on every new viewer. You'll wonder how he hasn't been snatched up by a bigger promotion with the rest of us! Though to be fair, Akki has started getting out there again...showing the Japanese Independent scene why he is the Winds of Change! What heights will this technical master reach? There is no ceiling in sight! His partner, “Big Apple” Mei Suruga, loves her tag belts almost as much as she loves snacks! (Though she has made her own lore even more complicated now with the addition of Watermelon-chan) A trick pin specialist, submission expert, and all around goblin, Mei seems to have skill and experience well beyond the years she has spent in pro-wrestling so far. She believes herself to be both the cutest and cockiest wrestler in the world! Despite all this, the Best Bros found themselves eliminated at the same time during the Summer Vacation Battle Royale. Can they get their coordination back on point enough to claim victory over a pair of frequent foes?

Once again we get the Power & Agility combination of Tropical Fairy Yunamon and “Too Much Energy” Chie! This rare pairing is two of the best and brightest (not to mention loudest) fighters on the roster! Yunamon is the next in line to challenge Minoru Fujita for the Super Asia Championship. She brings a flashy move set of powerful blows (including a killer lariat) and a presence & charisma combination that few can match! This Sing-Song Powerhouse is seriously an absolute blast to watch. I can't wait to see her ripping it up with the Best Bros again, since Yunamon is one of their constant adversaries. Meanwhile, vibrating somewhere nearby, Chie cannot be contained! This vibrant & cheerful striker (watch for those backhanded knuckle chops!) will have you confused and amazed in short order. How does she have so much energy? Why is she so unique at everything she does? Chie is one of the biggest characters in a roster of great characters. While they gave the Best Bros a run for their money last time, they'll need some high energy running to actually bring them down!

Can Sayaka continue to prove how she has grown? Will Yuna & Chie be able to overcome the Best Bros this time? Has Ichigaya survived the Flood from the previous episode?
