egg tats posted:why didn't the feds take the lead on a national system that the provinces could hook into like a year ago? we knew this was going to be a tool most of us would want, and if it's not a universal one, or built off of a common system, it'll be useless to travellers. The COVID Alert app would have been a great platform to launch this from too. It's upsetting that my province didn't sign up for it's implementation. Actually, I wonder if the underlining problem is the interprovincial health systems don't really cooperate very well.

Provinces: the FEDS need to make a national vaccine passport system Also the provinces: How DARE the feds meddle with medical matters, jurisdiction lies with the provinces! Can't have it both ways fuckos.

The provinces only want the feds to send them money and anything beyond that is tantamount to imposing a dictatorship.

I feel like even if the feds had made one, it would be necessary to advertise it to the provinces. Which would be considered an offense and lead to less vaccine passport mandates, since we live in the contrarian world. Just making one would be considered equal to enforcing one.

The Federal government can do whatever it wants healthcare wise by attaching money to it and withholding that from provinces that don't comply

Point is, I doubt 24 hour gyms are returning anytime soon, if at all.

I like how retail stores are exempted from the vaccine passport system in Ontario. High traffic venues that are somehow safer than areas that do extensive deep cleaning between sessions because passports hurt the economy.

My dad said my mom made some friends by flipping them all the bird as they drove past. On my way home from work I got behind a chromed out F250 with such amazing stickers like "Its not a lockdown, its fascism.", "COVID19 is the worlds most powerful mind control device", and my personal favourite "The only plague I see is socialism. The infuriating part is that they will be the vector of the spread to others who will, but they will feel empowered by their reinforced belief in "muh immune system!" or whatever. We need better enforcement of mandates. I have no pity for these people and I'd bet the majority of the population find them tiresome too. Treat these people who are convicted like online sex offenders and ban them from the internet and Facebook until it's safe to let them fall for whatever the next right-wing grift is.

The issue is that presentation is important for a good chunk of voters. Now this guy may be in an unelectable riding anyway so it doesn’t matter, but it goes back to the whole thing about the NDP not seeming to want to actually win elections. He seems ok from the podcast. That green tarp behind him though, lol.
