like I've mentioned before, NHTSA has been low-key threatened a few times by the NTSB for (essentially) giving them more crashes to deal with by not regulating Tesla into the ground, but I'm pretty sure the straw that broke the camels back was the maiming of first responders to crashes. once ARE CIVIL TROOPS are in danger, then even the most recalcitrant regulator's gotta act.

I like the definitions of Documents in that letter

yes, virtually every political appointee resigned (or was told to resign) by the start of his term, as is normal for changes in power except in cases where the incoming president specifically requests someone stays in their position. currently this guy is acting administrator

i saw a thing about the electric f150 and honestly that seems pretty good to me? like 40k for a decent electric truck? Like I'm not about to actually buy a new car like a chump but if i was gonna, nothing about that thing jumps out at me as a bad purchase.

they're making it almost exactly the same as the non-electric f-150 which is the best thing they could have done. only obvious difference will be the headlights go across the front

The contractors doing a reno across the street have been towing a 16' box trailer to and from the site using some version of Tesla. (Probably a model X?)

I can't help but feel that an electric F150 would make more sense for that use case...

Also they were experimenting with the engine noises, which apparently translated to blasting porn audio out of the car sound system at max volume, in a dense suburban neighbourhood full of young families. It seemed like a very Tesla-owner thing.

admittedly the segment i drive, sporty compacts, has largely been abandoned by the us companies but i've given their offerings a try in 2004, 2012, and 2018 when my current at the time vehicle self destructed and they just straight don't compare to what i can (and did) get from an asian company. like the car i bought in 2004 made twice the power from a larger displacement engine while using the same amount of fuel as its domestic competitor.

the electric F150 is going to absolutely eat the Cybertruck alive in market share. Tesla's only hope was to get out in front and release a good product first but lol Tesla.
