Any further reminders of how public health has become a cynical gladiator sport would drag down what the directors probably intend “Fauci” to partly be: a recruitment tool to incite young people to go into medical research. With the contemporary politics treated a little bit more as a sour side dish than the main course, and one surviving Act-Upper after another tearfully attesting to how activism and science can complement one another, it’s a documentary that merits a place in classrooms as well as theaters, as a preventative against the virus of cynicism.

In its weekly epidemiological update, published on Tuesday, WHO warned it was becoming increasingly prevalent in Colombia and Ecuador, and showed signs of possible resistance to vaccines.

Mu was first identified in Colombia in January 2021, and since then, there have been “sporadic reports” of cases and outbreaks in South America and Europe, WHO said.

While the global prevalence of Mu among sequenced COVID-19 cases is below 0.1%, its prevalence has “consistently increased” in Colombia and Ecuador, where it is now responsible for around 39% and 13% of infections, respectively.

Reports on the variant’s prevalence should be “interpreted with due consideration” given the low sequencing capacity of most countries, the agency said.

for some perspective, the Philippines first detected Delta in June 21, 2021

between June 21 to August 31, 2021, we've reported over 600,000 new cases

our official tally of confirmed cases of Delta, in total, as of August 29, was a mere 1,789 cases

I can't wait for my FDA approved booster shot. I sure hope nobody gets and transmit covid to any of my 80+ year old grandparents who haven't died from the virus before then. Oh well, wouldn't want to break any rules. 3 out of 4 haven't died from covid yet I'm sure they'll be fine.

I've added rooms. For the most part your people will stay in their section/office/whatever. rarely one or two people will go else where then come back. Its super fun to watch the outbreak stay contained in a room for a few days then spread
