it's very funny how on my city's subreddit like half the posts are about bad, aggressive, dangerous driving but any suggestions that people just drive the speed limit, or that it perhaps should be lowered in residential areas.... downvoted away. then again i remember reading somewhere that some large majority of americans think they are above average drivers, so, makes sense. we gotta get rid of these drat cars!!!

Growing up in central CT I always knew it sucked rear end, but always struggled to explain why. In retrospect it's clear that the state has been mostly ruined by car culture, and in a very unique way since it's sandwiched between nyc and Boston. Maybe I'll make a big effort post about CT at some point

there are no more working class horses. all horses today are the property of the rich and elite who use them as a very expensive and high maintenance novelty. most cars are at least used by ordinary people who have no choice but to use them to go about their lives in modern society. no one who owns a horse has any "need" for them. horse trailer should go straight to the top of that list
