I drove up to Omaha to visit a friend once and because I'd never been. There's nothing like flooring it and doing 120-130 in the middle of nowhere and its so vast and empty you still don't feel like you're moving/ making progress. The terrain doesnt fly by.

Ok this is bullshit there's one moment of activity on I-70 and it's going by Fort Riley because that's the only elevation change but also you can see all of the Army helicopters sitting in formation and sometimes see them taking off or landing.

Or you can go on US 50 and see the Kansas SpacePort where they fire off rockets and the place is lit up like the Emerald City from Wizard of Oz.

Also don't drive US 50 it's rear end. Drive US 54 and go through Liberal KS and Hooker OK.

The west (ocean to rockies) is bleak if by "bleak" you mean doesnt have a lot of human beings in it, but in terms of beautiful landscapes it can hardly be beat, even Idaho has some lovely landscapes, which you really cant say about the great plains/midwest states they are flat and featureless for hundreds(thousands?) of miles.

Idaho has Coeur d'Alene which is breathtaking. Seriously.

It's also on the panhandle so if your idea of Idaho is going across I-84 then yeah. That part is boring.

you are comparing entire planets here. forgotten realms is not a video game, but it would be tamriel vs this map, and this map is much much bigger(tamriel only appears to be maybe 1k miles across?)
