I went ahead and got the Uturn Orbit because it looks like the easiest to use, but I think I've made a huge mistake as these were fished out of the collection about 2 minutes later:

The last Dr. Demento compilation came out on vinyl in 2018 and it has the most perfectly executed joke of all time:

Also: William Shatner covering The Cramps.

Per the back of Duck Wars, there are at least 2 more albums, I would not be surprised to find them in the hoard, we've only been through about 1/4 of it so far.

When you see two novelty duck records not even 25% into going through the haul, it has to lower the ceiling of what you can possibly expect to find, while anticipating the horror of what yet might come.

I didn't get it but I did buy a single featuring My Ding-a-Ling by Chuck Berry.

Somewhere I might have the book version of this. Also every so often I look at the Disco Duck record at the end of the shelf in the WTF section at the local shop. Then I put it back. That's my story for today. I really need to get to the shop sometime soon because I have DVD poo poo to sell and an old record to actually look for for once.

Amen to that. My "Church-thrift" section has some of my most interesting stuff. Where else can you find endless amounts of Hawaiian music, a similar amount of organ music, some dude shredding on a banjo, Japanese easy listening, Brazilian covers of pop music, and a whole subsection of state-sanctioned Soviet pop albums pressed at the glorious Medal of Lenin-winning Aprelevka Record Plant?

Spinning tonight (in the 40ish minutes I've got):

Sometimes it's literally a poo poo gig, as the first time I saw Gwar a band called Pornhuskers opened and they had strippers on stage performing enemas on each other. That was a wild show.

Anyone buying Metallica after the 90's ended needs their head checked. I'm amazed that the local rock station has "Mandatory Metallica" every week night. They had 3.5 good albums and it's been mediocrity ever since.

Thank god I'm not alone. Some coworkers were trying to hash out what the best Metallica songs were today but couldn't remember what was one was on what album because there are too many good songs apparently. Also Whiskey in the Jar didn't make the cut. I know that one's a cover song but I didn't think it was too bad but I last listened to it years ago. Anyways I'd rather throw on a Raven album or something else these days.

i mean, it's a tribute album. metallica might suck or whatever but i can't really get mad about a tribute album, who cares. probably should be like $100 instead of $160 but if you're someone buying a dumb physical version of a tribute album then whatever

hell radiohead's charging $120 for that 3xLP reprint of kid a/amnesiac and a 30 page artbook, this shits dumb everywhere. my standards are so low i'm looking at the metallica web store at the black album remaster that's coming out thinking "oh wow only $24 for a 2xLP," given the urban outfittersification of vinyl i would have expected $35 or something
