I was wondering if these Dark Matches went longer than the usual 3 minutes. But at 51 matches in 6 hours, that's an average of 7 minutes per match. Yikes. I still don't understand the purpose of Dark in this format. Like if Dark is supposed to be developmental, wouldn't you need to see these people wrestle matches longer than that? If it's for their main roster wrestlers to "get reps in", don't they need to do more than wrestle a squash match? And if they are taping Dark in a studio setting, it's no longer about seeing how many people they can cram in before Dynamite and have them get their poo poo in with entrances/finishers to make the crowd happy to see the people not on the main show. But they seem to be doing the same format. Like they brought in 123 different wrestlers (plus however many others as valets). Only 18 of them they used for more than 1 matche. Wardlow worked 3 matches, most worked 2... I'll be curious to see how many matches they cram into one episode of Dark this week. It just seems crazy to me that you'd fly in somebody like Kris Statlander to work a single 3 minute squash match

There's obviously an audience for Dark because they get 400k views or so per episode. Just accept that it isn't for you and move on.

Dark is a mixed bag, some matches are total squashes that last a minute or two and some go 15+ minutes so even the absurd number of matches doesn't mean much if a lot are local talent squashes. What makes Dark great tho is at any time we could have Colt Cabana and Daniel Garcia wrestle an old Johnny Kidd vs Johnny Ace UK classic, Lulu Pencil rolling around like a pencil against Jamie Hayter in a comedy squash, or a really kick-rear end Dante Martin vs Lee Moriarty match on any random show. Most people skip it because they see two hours of random undercard wrestlers and local jobbers but the Swole/Diamonte Three Stages of Hell match was really good and so was the Cutler/Avalon in the battle to get 1 win. Just like old Heat there are feuds brewing there you've just got to learn to skip around the show on YT or just put it on in the background while you're doing something else Maybe people are so conditioned to WWE that nothing happens on the shows, I get it they've been the only promotion for a decade Tampa Bae fucked around with this message at 16:52 on Sep 12, 2021 |

Exactly this, and you can even see it in the megacard: Lance Archer vs jobber that was not recognized by who put the list together probably a minute or less. Colt Cabana vs JD Drake? probably a ten minute banger. Serpentico vs Marko Stunt? that's gotta be a great comedy match. Kiera Hogan vs Leila Grey will probs be a bit under ten minutes and boost up Hogan's record as she slowly picks up wins from the undercard now that she's a bit higher in the card than jobber. Legit don't know who wins between Skye Blue and Madi Wrencosky. And those last two matches are probably gonna matter down the line because we're going to see women rise from there in the roster like Tay, Anna, and Red Velvet. Like, if nothing else, there's a very good chunk of the card that just seems like fun matches that would be somewhere in a lower energy Dynamite. Comoroto vs Cassidy, DANIEL GARCIA VS 5, Best friends vs TH2 and Johl, Leyla vs Kylin, Bear Bronson vs Eddie Kingston.

The key word in your post is "average". Some matches are longer, some are shorter. The only real squashes you'll ever see are Archer murdering people, and Jade being protected with 45-second matches because she's still very green. Otherwise you rarely see anyone beaten in only a couple minutes. Most get 4-5.
