All battleline are bad and too weak/expensive. Nothing is as strong as other army auto-includes (lol). New book should be OP. Stardrake has been nerfed... Like it seems as though nobody has read the new hero/monster rules, haven't seen the other points changes and basically don't play the game. If you want to chat about cool uses of the new sword guys for instance (which I reckon might be cool with a hero supporting or some spells) it's just people saying how bad they are. Anyway I've had my own whinge now thank you for listening. I think the book is cool tbh and has so many options that I feel spoiled for choice. Lots of interesting synergies that might not be instant wins but they're going to keep players on their toes. It's a diverse army with lots of ways to play Warhammer, it's good. I don't have the book obviously but I pored over reviews this weekend which give away every single rule or change more or less and it almost all sounds good.

I really feel like GW should have been releasing the core kits for the new books before the special heroes etc. I'm kinda tempted to buy another shaman and some gutrippas from ebay from a set splitter, is that GW's intent? Plus it looks like I'll have to run my army as big yellas just to fit core requirements, but I'm not actually going to paint anything yellow. Maybe the fluff text means my guys are really good at yelling...

Paint your dollies however you like, dont play with people who cares about it

I remember people being super down on the current Kharadron book when it dropped even. It seems to mostly be an online phenomena least. In person most folks seem pretty happy.

the vulture guy is a bit too expensive/crazy for me to get right now but I'm pleased that the ork sludge lizard looks like a good unit + gets the coveted Monster keyword, might def pick that one up. Was a bit disappointed that the demonic Dobby mount didn't get that designation.

I suppose stormhosts must have "successor chapters" the way that Space Marine chapters do. I'm going to keep painting my guys silver and green regardless. My local Warhammer store has been doing weekly sessions for learning 3rd edition in 500pt games. It's nice to be playing against people again, even if 500pt open play is basically rock paper scissors based on what you bring.

The TWW launcher for a couple of days after launch had a giant banner with a picture of the old Karl Franz model with something along the lines of "You've played the game!
