Neat old film about how anti-aircraft shells were made in WW2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPGqLjnNIJY It's amazing how much work it takes to make each shell, but I also find it interesting that there doesn't seem to be a lot of highly specialized equipment. Mostly basic lathes, drills, presses and such.

The danger isn't so much the criticality, it's the way that the UF6 releases clouds of hydrogen fluoride when exposed to moist air. Clouds of hydrofluoric acid are very spicy indeed.
