I really hope they do a new Daredevil soon with this current buck they're using for Spider-Man, because it looks perfect for him. That's another character that never seems quite right in toy form, but he's my favorite Marvel character.

I always see Daredevil as slightly bulkier than Spider-Man just due the the boxer background but the retro Spidey body is based on the 70s Romita look which is more bulky than Spider-Man is in modern times so it might work.

I will say the character they have never gotten right is Moon Knight. Guy should be Captain America/Batman sized and they always put him on these skinny bucks.

Armored Spider-Man was the very first Animated Series Spider-Man figure I got back in the 90s so I didn’t even hesitate preordering the Marvel Legends version.

Bullseye has the best buck for both Daredevil and Iron Fist. Danny and Matt's builds are so similar that Danny wears the horns regularly to help cover for Matt.

The Iron Fist body isn't great. I wish they would redo that. The last Bullseye was pretty good though.

I feel like its slightly sketch when a seller has multiple listings for the same item with the same pictures. Mercari makes it really easy to see when they have previously sold same items where they did that. The one time I ignored it things worked out but it gives me pause.

I have my eye on this but I would never play it so it's probably just a waste of money for me.

Now that your main collection is so big it's taken up a room of your house, you could use the miniatures as a portable collection to keep in your car or take with you on plane trips.

Yeah Nakano Broadway is home to a LOT of large and small toy shops, including a bunch of branches of the Mandarake specialty shops. Mandarake is pretty much the largest collector reseller in Japan. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/?lang=en

But Nakano Broadway has a lot of little stalls that are jam packed with stuff. One of my favorite trips was a few years ago when I rented an Air BnB near there because the entire neighborhood is actually pretty neat, and having my friend's cafe close by was kind of a good home base for me then.

That sounds awesome. I looked into flights to Japan out of pure curiosity and it's $1000 bucks for sardine style or 20K (WFT!?) for first class, lol. Not sure a trip to vinyl meca is in my future, but maybe someday. I already want to go to Akihabara for all the toy stuff. I also want to do the real life Mario Kart drive around Tokyo!

Edit: Not sure I needed that link to Mandarake in my life; looks dangerous for my wallet.

The Mario Kart thing is no longer allowed (even pre-pandemic) and the locals always found it annoying.

Mandarake is great, but a lot of the stores around Akihabara have the same poo poo as every other store and most of it is easily bought online. Of course there are always tiny nooks and crannies to find with gold, but be prepared to do a lot of digging. Mandarake is definitely the safe bet to find rare stuff, but they know the worth of their items, so you're not really going to find "deals" there.

edit: Make sure you go to the general Mandarake and not one of the offshoots. We found ourselves in a BL Mandarake satellite store and we all had a good laugh, but it wasn't exactly what we were looking for.

Aphrodite

Being able to shop in person probably still helps with the tendency for Mandarake to randomly decide whether the product will be listed under the official English name, Japanese name, or something else entirely.

That is a huge bummer, but yeah, I'm sure everyone hated them but the people on the carts.

No idea when I'll ever go, but the very loose plan is to see the countryside and visit some bonsai gardens for some time, and then juxtapose that with time in the big cities.

Akihabira is definitely a place to go at least once but not a place you would necessarily frequent if you go to Japan frequently. Nakano Broadway, on the other hand, is where it's at. Multiple Mandarake specialty shops, places like One-Up , Hanabano Garou, specialty shops that have things like old movie posters, one of the best anime cell shops I've been to (Want that Naussica cell? They've got them), little shops that probably have that one toy you've been looking for in their cases, etc. I frequently hit a few of the stalls that I know will have blank sofubi from smaller makers who clear out some of their inventory so I can take it home and paint it. Plus all of the great little bars and cafes there that are themed, like the JoJo Bar, DaiKaiju Salon, etc etc.

Through sheer postal luck I got my first, second, and third Sofubi in the mail today!!!

Seemed fitting with all the interest and questions that I start with Gatos Y Vatos's own Lulu! It was pretty difficult to decide which color to go with so I opted for the one with the most pizazz.

It's blindingly gold (in the best way possible), but if you hold it up to the light you can see through it; it's got a sort of pinkish tint.

Then I stumbled across a maker for The Galaxy People on instagram. I guess these dudes were supposed to be at a Toy show in NY, but it was postponed, so these were offered up online.

They're GITD and glow really well off the bat.

I also got a Funko Hikari (Does this ruin cred, lol) of Metaluna Mutant who was much bigger than I was expecting. I've already got my eyes on another piece, but will have to hit ebay for some more funds first.

Sideshow coupons are absolutely almost always universally worthless since they only work on a limited number of products and none of them are preorders.
