I loved the hell out of RDR2 and the slow action really complimented my playstyle and helped to increase my immersion, but I also understand that some people, possibly even the majority of people hate it and I'm not about to try and tell them they're wrong.

In my experience preordering on Amazon can mean the game arrived at 8pm. If you're cool with that they're fine.

If the game's half-baked don't bother, or wait to pick it up at 75% off after it's been properly patched.

Preordering on Amazon used to be like 10$ off retail, so if you were going to pick a game up anyway it was kind of silly not to. I don’t think they offer that discount anymore though. Someone else mentioned this, but they also don’t charge your card until the product ships, so it’s not like they hold 5 dollars hostage like GameStop.

I am a smoothbrain I guess because I like Cold War a lot. MW was my first cod and imo it's kinda boring after a bit because the maps aren't great and it sorta rewards camping. I like running around shooting people in the face at hyperspeed because I am old and grew up on Doom and Quake. It'd be nice if we could express that we dislike a game without throwing around borderline offensive terms.

TBH I stopped preordering poo poo because of game pass. I still buy games I know I'll want to keep forever, but there's little to no benefit to preordering. That said, at least on Amazon you're only charged when it ships so it's not like you're giving them 60 bucks months in advance.

One of my favourite things about the Yakuza games is the NPCs that accidentally walk into a cutscene and go "oh poo poo" and turn around. I've been sick the past couple of days and stuck in bed and for various reasons the Series S, PS5 and PS4 Pro are all set up downstairs so all I've got in my bedroom is a base Xbox One. I've been playing a lot of Destiny 2 and Yakuza LAD on it after not touching it for a long time and it's actually not as bad as I remembered. The home UI isn't as slow as either it used to be or I remembered it being, and games don't look that bad at the distance I'm playing them from... I guess with just playing very recent games on it it's a credit to how far devs were able to take that lovely hardware.

Interesting. I can't remember the last time I pre-ordered a game (maybe never) before 2021. Then again, I got Diablo 2 (series x), Wario Ware (switch) and The Huntdown (switch) pre-ordered in the last month. But I guess with that, I sorta know exactly what I'm getting.

So for CoD Vanguard...they're sure this thing is a beta and not an alpha? Because it neither looks nor sounds as good as Cold War  I think there were two separate beta installs, one for Xbone and one for Series X|S, and I got the Series X|S one but I sure as hell can't tell the difference.
