It's hilariously dumb given the pile of Israeli studies showing what happens if you don't have 3rd booster 6 - 8 months later.

And more importantly avoiding infection via the vaccine final line of defense also prevents the risk of getting long covid.

Yeah. I kind of imagine the Israeli study is just quantifying behavioral changes from getting run over by the rona train. On the other hand she might have worked a job where you get regular screening tests and most of those were asymptomatic and got cleared up in a day or two?

My slim hope remains that the FDA says 'yeah, sure get a booster if you want anytime after six months but we don't officially reccomend it for everyone'. But that would make way to much sense so it won't happen. It'll either be nothing or some lovely needlessly stratified gatekeeping.

I'm sure gate keeping / Phase system would be the most likely outcome at this point.

Luckily there's the gamefaqs speed run left to do.

remember the two days when it looked like the guidance was going to be tiered rollouts, y’know the thing that only lasted like 3 weeks when 50% of the country was scrambling to get vaxxed

The tiered rollout was the dumbest most destructive poo poo and anyone in health care could have told you only half the country is going to get it and you don't need to worry about people stampeding to get the vaxx.

No, but I linked the official EU list of Covid tests that are in use in Europe:

There's a shitton so how did the US screw up its supply so bad?

Maybe you could order something from that list from Aliexpress? Always the risk you'll get some dogshit fake, but it's not a huge monetary investment and I'm talking out of my rear end here, but I'd estimate screening with rapid antigen tests is about as effective an NPI as wearing surgical masks.

Yes people will tell you to take it off. If they give you a mask to wear then ask if you can wear it underneath. If they say no then take it off and put it back on when you are out of eyeshot. If they say yes then wear it and take it off when you are out of eyeshot.

This is what I did, wore the respirator on every flight despite being asked multiple times to take it off. Once you're in the seat nobody cares.

I figured it was something along those lines. Thank you.

Close, it was Mao's idea that the whole of China could be put to work making steel out of iron and that would contribute to China's economy and help industrialize China. Unfortunately to make decent quality steel you need a very hot furnace and most of the backyard furnaces weren't hot enough to make steel so the whole country set to work turning iron into pig iron. A very small amount of usable extra steel was created and a whole bunch of the peasants starved to death because participation was mandatory and they didn't have time to farm as well.

Mao thought the project was a great success and showed enthusiasm and creativity. Later on he would get the peasants to kill off all the sparrows during the Four Pests campaign, causing the insect population to explode and mass crop failures.

Sometimes it’s hard not to think about the parasites that hijack the host’s brain and make it get eaten by the creature the parasite reproduces in. I think that’s part of toxoplasma gandii’s deal, right? It makes rodents unafraid of cat smells, because it wants to get back into the cats so it can be poo poo out by the cats and do it again. There are some pretty profane ones that effect bugs, too, all turning a basic ant or something into some horrible dark souls creature whose only remaining desire is to be eaten by a bird, or that one where the cicadas get all gently caress crazed and keep fuckin as their bodies turn to powder that gets on the other cicadas and repeats the process.

I’m not saying that covid warps human brains to make us demand to be in situations that will kill us, I’m sure that’s just capitalism doing that, but I think an impartial observer could mistake what’s going on here for one of those horrifying suicide parasites.
