Severed Steel is now out in full, not early access. It's good! Not sure how long it is though, I plowed through 3 chapters with 44 minutes played. I had more fun with the arcade mode in the demo anyway.

Playthrough for Hexen done! --- Did you have fun with DOOM? Did you like the parts where you killed the poo poo out of demons? You didn't really care about exploring, just loved the feeling of your pumping blood go through you as you killed everything, SAW THEIR BLOOD SPLURT EVERYWHERE, JUST WANTED TO loving KILL EVERYTHING WITH ALL THE WEAPONS gently caress YEAAAAAAAAA?! *snort cocaine* Game rating: 0/5 stars. You will not like this game. --- Ok, so Hexen isn't a FPS, it's more of a First-Person Explorer. Spending the hours looking for the switches / combos for that unlock on that other map (99% of the game is a hub design) is cool, if you're into that thing. It does get pretty tighter and restrictive too - you'll need to use those items to avoid more damage (the inventory system from Heretic returns, and it's a good thing to add). As you get further into the game, things'll get a little bit more dangerous overall. The level design is a lot better, and tighter than Heretic too; the hub format helps out here. It's a pretty enough game too, for it's time. Alas, the problem IS the hub design. There's a LOT of backtracking, and a lot of re-killing the same enemies you've seen hundreds of times. And the worst part is that you've only got 4 weapons, but only really 2 on your level-to-level use. Your others are your poo poo fallback weapon, and your super-powerful weapon which costs too much mana, and isn't always the best choice due to map layout. However, I'm willing to give Hexen another chance, because of my 3 role choices (Fighter/Cleric/Mage), I went with Fighter; and it felt like I was just a melee bitch with 75% swipe->walkback->swipe->repeat combat style. But, I'm going to replay Hexen again with it's xpac (Deathkings of the Dark Citadel), so we'll see how much difference a class + weaps makes. I'll also replay Deathkings of the Dark Citadel with Mage, just to see. --- I give Hexen a possible 2.5/5 stars - tbc (it should be 1.5/5 because I lost hours looking for a key that was staring me in the face but had the same texture as the wall behind, and that hour I lost due to a bugged trigger, fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck) And as always, special thanks to GZDoom for just being awesome and making life so easy

If you ever get interested in Hexen, make sure you have two friends. The game seemed more suited for having all 3 character classes in play, even if the engine didn't cope as well (due to the hub design).

I started playing Nosferatu: Wrath of Malachi yesterday and I'm hooked. Has anyone messed with it? It's really rough around the edges but the core loop is interesting. You rescue people (escort missions  ) from a semi randomly generated vampire castle using holy powers and some Battlegrounds style weapons (its supposed to be very early 20th century). The atmosphere is really good. The physics are really bad though: If you walk over curved surfaces you get yeeted into the ceiling, doors will gib you, etc.RIYL: Eldritch, Blood, Amnesia.
