I SAID WE'RE NOT GONNA BE FUCKING SUCK THIS YEAR!!!

I'm so sick of Fuente and seeing the same infuriating team failures over and over and over again. They keep screwing the kids, running off the best talent on the team, and refusing the do anything but coach scared. Even with all that they should have won the loving game, I really do think the defensive staff is doing a good job, but that was never the issue we hired him to fix.

I really don't care how bad the rest of the division is, I don't care if we manage to come out on top of it, or even somehow pull out some insane miracle ACC title (Clemson will probably figure it out so lol at that). I want him gone. Week to week we just cannot count on this staff to have the team ready to play and be put in a position to actually loving win games.

Even in the 2 wins this season the same stupid bullshit issues plague the program.

Just out of curiosity, but how do you get the data for your poll? I did a moon poll a long time ago, but it took me so long to put all the data into my spreadsheets I gave up. Seemed like it was hard to find a good place to get all that data in an easily formatted way. I was trying to use a lot though, points for/against, yards for/against, turnovers, first downs, and maybe a couple other things.

This week will be illuminating for A&M. Calzada looked much better last week than he did vs Colorado, but the offensive line play is worrying. At least the defense is fun to watch, but Arkansas will probably cross the 50 more times than New Mexico and Colorado did (in the second half at least).

Colorado is not good. Like, really bad not good.

The level of competition has been poor, but I believe the Aggie defense is elite because it was elite last year and returned almost everyone.

I'm old fashioned and use a spreadsheet, importing data from other spreadsheets I generate at https://stats.ncaa.org/rankings?sport_code=MFB&division=11. I've streamlined things over the years to where I can pretty much copy/paste.I use wins/losses, points for/against, yards for/against, and turnover margin; bonuses for wins over top 25 teams (AP in Week 1, my ranking after), win/loss streak, and strength of schedule. If I have free time I can even do my own strength of schedule calculation but most of the time I get lazy and use KenPom since his calculation comes close enough to mine.

Most amazing stat of the day:

- Ohio State's starting corners (Cam Brown; Denzel Burke) are averaging <40% completion against them despite sitting in man/Spot-Drop Cover 3 all day.

- Despite this, Ohio State is giving up over 300 passing yards per game

Never let anyone tell you safeties and linebackers in coverage don't matter.

Ohio State is starting to resemble Oklahoma. Can score almost at will on anyone, but the defense has is poo poo, which is completely uncharacteristic for Ohio State going back to Tressel. Maybe Ohio State can outlast the Big Ten East by making every single game a shootout. But I have to imagine it catches up to them. They might even have their hands full against Maryland.

I'm not going to hold my breath that Penn State wins @ Iowa, but if Penn State can walk into Columbus with one loss, I'm cautiously optimistic Penn State can make a respectable game of it.

I am fairly certain that ULM was the worst team you had last year, I was curious if you could see what they finished with last year compared to what UCONN is doing this year? Just for comparisons sake as I know ULM was awful last year

2020 to anything else is a bit apples to oranges but ULM finished 0-10 last year on an 11 game losing streak, all while playing the 4th weakest schedule in the country. They finished at -7.

If I extrapolate UConn out to 12 games and assume they finish 0-12, due to what should work out to be an average strength of schedule they'll finish around -5.

Shaw played every snap last week. If he got 20 pounds heavier, he might be an okay LB. Otherwise he’s the word safety I’ve ever seen here.

Eichenberg is like if Tuf was literally never in position. He wraps up when the guy is in front of him but the guy never is and he’s slow as gently caress.

Stroud’s apparently had a shoulder injury since camp and is still dealing with it. This team might have a conference loss to come, but the offense is putting up 28 in a worst case scenario which is enough the next 4-5 weeks while he gets his feet under him. Hopefully the backups get some burn this week because I’m not happy with the amount of passing we’ve had to do early.

It’s going to be a redux of the Barrett comeback/Haskins shootout in 2017/2018 if Ohio State wins or the 2016 game if penn state wins. There’s essentially nothing about the Penn State offense that’s going to meaningfully outperform what Oregon did against Ohio state, so either Stroud/Henderson score enough to moot that or they don’t. Penn State is too aggressive on defense to stop the home run plays from guys downfield, but that’s going to be an ulcer for everyone.

A completely underrated element here is how Mike Yurcich is gameplanning around Sean Clifford's obvious deficiencies and Clifford is getting better every week. We still have to see how he does against Iowa on the road, but the evolution of the offense in three weeks is starting to remind me a lot of Bill O'Brien turning Matt McGloin of all people into an NFL quarterback. Clifford isn't there yet and may not get there, but he's limiting his own mistakes and spreading the ball around. Ohio State's pass defense is pretty awful. Conversely, Penn State might have the best secondary they've had as long as I've been watching. They can get away with being aggressive in blitzes because the secondary can play man. They haven't played against receivers of Ohio State's caliber yet. And won't, really, until the Ohio State game.

It's going to be a close game.

Indiana put up a decent fight against Cincinnati, but I'm not sure why ABC opted for Indiana @ Penn State at primetime in two weeks. They'll only be 2-2 with wins against Idaho and (presumably) at Western Kentucky with two big losses against ranked teams. Both the Idaho and WKU games were/are primetime also.

Depending how the next two weeks play out, maryland could definitely pose an issue for OSU's secondary. And even if OSU handles maryland, that IU game before PSU is a classic OSU trap game.
