Just pick the game you want to play and it downloads the rom on demand https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwKGd7vmHdc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evfPIITXbEs If you absolutely must have an android stick with (almost) everything pre-installed and pre-configured for 2 players and coming with 2 controllers in the box, there's the super console x stick which is the most well known of these android sticks repurposed into retro rom players, which means there are a bunch of reviews out there so at least you know the weaknesses and shortcomings and know what you're getting. Keep in mind that even on AliExpress this is a lot more expensive than a fire tv stick, so it's really only a deal if you need the 2 controllers it comes with, and even then the controllers aren't great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_By73gjt9f4 norp posted:You don't wanna bother with AliExpress for that, just an android tv stick that has certification. Since popular demand was asking about AliExpress sticks, I just assumed he meant emulating old games. There isn't an easy way to search by ring size when buying jewelry, is there? I don't see it, but I've got a half-size finger and it'd sure be nice to filter by that. Putting it in the search bar doesn't work. Thanks!

I just went ring shopping on there. Measure your knuckle in mm - different sellers look like they use different size conversions, and break out a calculator because some size charts are by circumference and some are by diameter

I remember when these showed up on some online ads a few years back and finally turned to Ali to buy some. I contacted one of the sellers to do a custom job. These are sticker skins for credit/debit cards. Unfortunately mine came a bit bent so I'm gonna try and flatten them out a bit more prior to sticking. There is a punch out area for the chip that's a little hard to see in this picture. The bottom card is Muxus, from MtG. My friend is a fan of the game (and the particular card) So I figured it would be a nice little gift. e: Linked DeadMansSuspenders fucked around with this message at 18:50 on Sep 21, 2021 |

Place fart joke here It’s a controller for a fan, right? Or does it make absolutely no sense with what that actually controls?

I don’t like the idea of a fan that can be adjusted to infinity because man’s curiosity knows no bounds.

Thankfully it'll take an infinitely long time for anyone to get it up to infinity, so we should be okay.

After buying a couple dozen electronic components on Ali, I finally got a bunk one. It's not even really bunk, but it's the 3.3V version off the 5V step up converter I need. It was a real confusing hour while I tried to figure out why the same setup I had used before was not working, and only putting out a slightly lower voltage than what I was putting in. Finally realized it when I dropped the input voltage to ~2.5V with a diode and the output snapped right to 3.3V. It looks exactly the same, and the only giveaway is the super tiny non-contrasting text on the chip, the model number ends in /33, where the 5V version is /50. I have like zero use for these, even the things I use that run on 3.3V take 5V as an input and regulate their own 3.3V. Guess it's time to find out how these disputes work.

Saw a facebook ad for a head-torch using a strip of bright LEDs and they were asking like forty quid for it - My 'cheap from china' radar pinged and a little bit of searching later: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002754020984.html £7, much more reasonable . I ordered two and they arrived today, and if you need a head-mounted light they are very much worth the money - light, comfortable to wear, good and bright and fairly solidly constructed. Leaving one in my go-bag and one at home in the tool cupboard.

Anyone have a suggestion for something like a rubber tire wrap? I got a second hand powerwheels, but the tires are plastic and the traction is all worn down, so they tend to spin. These look pretty similar: I tried to use heavy rubber bands, but they broke off pretty quickly. The wheels can't be replaced either because they have shapes that kind of snap together into the axle.

I wonder if there's a chemical solution you could spray on? Maybe not from Ali but Home Depot or something? I feel like the plumbing/insulation aisle at HD would probably have some kind of solution for that.

bar88537 posted:Anyone have a suggestion for something like a rubber tire wrap? Flex seal or plastidip, in spray paint like cans. Flex seal will be stronger but more expensive. Multiple coats would probably be a lot easier than attaching strips to wheels. No idea if it would work long term though.

Isn't there a paintable version of Flex Seal that's made for larger areas? I feel like I've seen it in big tubs at Home Depot before. Probably better than buying several spray cans worth, if that's an option.

bar88537 posted:Anyone have a suggestion for something like a rubber tire wrap? One method is to get some cheap mountain bike tires, cut the sidewalls off then take the tread section and wrap it around the outside of the old wheel, cut it to length then attach the tread section onto the outside of the wheel with wood screws, If that does not work out it looks like you can get adapters to fit new wheels on Ali https://www.aliexpress.com/item/329...847433465%22%7D

If none of the (very excellent) suggestions mentioned work, tires are one of the extremely few replacement parts you can readily purchase for Power Wheels. All the fun stuff is restricted to their authorized repair shops, but tires, wheels, and their mounting hardware are available through appliance part suppliers.

I can actually confirm through Ida-mediated experimentation that a Clara HD on low backlight and wifi off will provide at least 25 hours of reading time between recharges (I still had 30%+ left when I got access to power again).
