"If I lose I will set myself on fire."
It bears mentioning that (I'm in the same Discord) that person later stated they liked the match. Not sure how much of that is them walking it back after some backlash.

E: And yeah, I'm sometimes tempted to post takes from there here too but I can usually just barely hold myself back. That was one of the most baffling takes there in a while, though.

Look, my tastes are purely subjective. I grew up watching eighties wrestling. A lot of guys back then weren’t physically able to do the stuff that guys today can. Eighties wrestling, for the most part was more grappling, much less running.

Go watch an old Bob Backlund match if you want to see what 10 minutes of limb work looks like.
You all would lose your poo poo if you had to watch 10 minutes of limb work - which used to be a common time-filler and was sometimes painful to watch

So yeah, his idea of wrestling is "Specifically what I personally watched as a child."

And like IGgy said he eventually said it was a great match but he didn't like Kenny's style so :psyduck:

Didnt we have a match of ten minutes of limb work just on the last PPV?

The best match of SANADA's career involved a ten minute long Skull End spot. To be fair Okada is a miracle worker but still.

I legit loved the NOAH match which had the half hour stare off and also had an extended sequence where the big guy sat on the other guy and tried to force his shoulders down for 10 minutes and the ref had to repeatedly put his fingers under the shoulders to make sure they were touching the ground.

Edit: There should be more spots where a big guy sits on a smaller guy

Okada can never be the greatest due to the Ric flair test. Can you get a good match out of a broom. I would extend this to any inanimate object and observe these results:

Omega: sex doll
Ibushi: sex doll, teddy bear
Ishii: Honma

Unfortunately for Okada, despite being more closely related to a crab than a human, Marty Scurll is still animate.

The problem is ithat AEW doesn't seem at all invested in building up any of the other women. Britt didn't magically get over, and it for goddamn sure wasn't organic...they concentrated most of the effort in the division on her since day one. When things weren't working, they circled the wagons and had lots of the top brass / most experienced personal work with her...something that she's admitted continues to this day.

Nobody else in the division has gotten that kind of effort put into getting them over. poo poo, nobody else in AEW has really gotten that kind of effort into getting them over, regardless of division.

It's not hard to shine the brightest when the spotlight never leaves you.

Man, I would like Shida back on Dynamite too, but give Britt some goddamn credit.
