Well that's kind of rude. If you disagree with the concept of financial fraud as a crime, just say so, but the sanctions are almost tangential.

If we understand financial fraud to mean trading with Iran whilst evading the US's unilateral and immoral sanctions in the process, then I am in favor of it

Fun fact: The USN regards PLAN's Type 055 as cruisers and refers to them as such in its reports.

Double fun fact: Russia's Kirov-class cruisers have over double the tonnage than any other navies' cruisers.

They are also mass producing 55s at a constant rate, part of the reason the Anglophones are panicking.

Each of them can vertical launch over 100 warheads, including hypersonic anti ship missiles. Burkes have about half the firepower. It is part of one of the many reasons that even if a shooting war happened with Taiwan, it would literally last hours.

the old school way was just to spin it around.

you just spin the uranium around, as a gas, until the part that is 98.7% the mass of the other one concentrates in the center, since the heavier stuff is flung to the outside. the lighter version blows up only when you get enough of it together as a percent of the total. You start with it being 0.72% of the total and you want it to be 20%-85%.

The efficiency of separating atoms by weight this way when the weight is almost identical is basically negligible, that's why there's a lot of tubes

this is for separating isotopes of uranium in order to isolate the Uranium-235 from the less useful isotopes.

chemically separating uranium from other chemicals is a lot easier than this

This argument gets more tiresome each time. China also has nukes MAD exists, the US isn’t going to be trading American cities for Taiwan. In any sort of trade, the US also probably loses out because the Russians are going to sit on the sidelines.

The point of military force is leverage, everyone knows the ROC is hopeless screwed and that changes the power dynamic between the two powers. The question now is if and when the US loses its grip on the indo-pacific region entirely.

Ardennes

Sure

Otherwise, yeah, nukes are generally a pointless discussion because no one can use them without an obvious cost.Taking out a battle group just isn’t worth it because of simply the potential for far more dramatic destruction.

Side note: I keep seeing this fantasy scenario being pushed about PLA forces launching a Normandy-style invasion. There is absolutely no reason for them to ever do this, it isn’t 1950. I get it is the only way the ROC could actually control the situation but there is simply no way to happen. At least the Fulda Gap was a possible scenario.

I'd find it more plausible that the PRC engineers a, or jumps on an existing, crisis to send aid, with strings (and boots-on-ground) attached, and then never leave. I'm pretty sure someone in this thread mentioned that the ROC establishment is already infiltrated to heck so seems like the groundwork is already laid?

The only kind of "war" between two nuclear powers is the kind between China and India last year. You are not allowed to call it a war and not allowed to report the actual body count.

It's about the same scale as the Sino-Soviet skirmish in the late Mao era.
