finished l-gaim. this was the most baffling tomino anime i've seen and this is coming off of wings of rean, which i actually fairly liked but also rean was six eps of weird plot beats and comedy and not, uh, l-gaim. the early stuff is really fun and then midway through it tries to shift into a more standard gundam-ish space mecha show and it's terrible at it and it loses a lot of the charm it initially had, only carried by its remaining fun cast, but a lot of the plot writing really breaks down even the fun parts of the main cast and there's all this random poo poo they just keep throwing in and none of it goes anywhere or makes any sense. the last ten episodes have a really interesting theme about women being abused, manipulated and thrown away by men who only want to use them to achieve their own means, but coming from a show as weird about its female cast as l-gaim and that continues to be weird about them during this arc, it all just ends up coming off kind of bizarre and inconsistent and while it spawns the show's most interesting character in full flat, full flat also, makes zero loving sense in half of what she does. and she dies by getting flattened by a falling robot which you know, that's, that's a bit too obvious, come on the hosed up thing is that despite all of this i would be able to rec the show if it was like. 26 eps. but it's 54 eps and it gets absolutely mind melting. there's some really interesting and fun stuff in l-gaim but holy poo poo it is both too long and too incoherent to be worth the commitment. hope it gets good stuff in super robot wars 30 though cause you could easily salvage something much better out of its cast, gavlet gablae is one of the most incredible mecha rivals because no matter how serious the show gets he literally never takes anything even remotely seriously and has no bigger goals other than just doing whatever he feels like doing at a particular moment in time. it's pretty refreshing in a cast that are constantly trying to pull bigger goals out that usually make no sense at all with their actions, gablae just admits he's doing whatever the gently caress The Colonel fucked around with this message at 03:17 on Oct 2, 2021 |

We just put a second tv on the adjacent wall, so I can play a game and watch a anime at the same time, just like in Fahrenheit 451. So um what's th best way to see animes, subbed AND dubbed preferably. Maybe Crunchyroll? I don't know if I have the money for a sub rn. Or should I stick to hunterxhunter on Netflix? If you're looking for a service with a wide array of subs and dubs both, Funimation would be your best bet for that. Crunchyroll has several series available dubbed, but their focus is mostly subs.
