So at first twitter was full of #tofinotrudeau posts and now there's #CdnMediaFailed because the media was more interested in Trudeau's whereabouts rather than the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and people are now lashing out for that.

I got married in Tofino two years ago and was genuinely concerned about him randomly showing up. He did visit with First Nations while there so it’s not like he did nothing. But it did prove a big distraction on what is supposed to be a solemn holiday. Imagine he hosed off to Aruba on Remembrance Day - it feels like the same thing. I’m all for smacking the media around for caring more about a vacation than the people the day is for. ChickenDoodle fucked around with this message at 01:57 on Oct 3, 2021 |

https://www.ctvnews.ca/mobile/politics/elizabeth-may-won-t-be-green-interim-leader-says-annamie-paul-hurting-party-1.5608501 Annamie Paul still controls party communication and press releases and told Elizabeth May to shut the gently caress up and not take interviews during the election. Even though Paul said she's resigned as leader she's been preventing the Green Party from making press releases without her consent and the group's indigenous members are pissed that Paul didn't let the Greens release a Truth and Reconciliation Day statement.

He should realize that the day set aside to remember and reflect on literal genocide of Indigenous people is not the day to go away to think about his (very white and very privileged) family.

The Manitoba PCs hosed up their pandemic response horribly, declared a RESTARTMB! in the summer of 2020, made headlines as the pandemic hotspot not long after, was forced to fly patients to other provinces after gutting the health sector, and then Brian Pallister was unable to not go off script and argue that colonists were in fact very fine people, leading to his hasty resignation. The PCs haven't even appointed a new leader and guess what? A rebound in support! https://www.probe-research.com/polls/progressive-conservative-support-rebounds-manitoba Way to go Manitoba! I'm assuming PC supporters were jealous of Alberta getting all the news for being dumb as gently caress.

Edit. Apparently this interview was on Friday, my bad. Lol Jim Harris was on CTV straight up calling out Annamie Paul for deflecting criticisms of her leadership as racism and sexism. So that's two former Green leaders calling her out now. Evan Solomon was pushing the "you're a white male leader so you're blind to the racism" and de-legitimizing her leadership. The media is going all in on the racism against Paul story. Arc Hammer fucked around with this message at 22:16 on Oct 4, 2021 |

It's all about the racism, baby. In a career choice dominated by incompetent opportunists, you can't call the black person an incompetent opportunist. You have to set them up to fail from within. Burn this whole party to the ground. Torch the other ones too.

I feel like that previous Probe poll was a massive outlier, having the NDP up 18% seemed a bit off when no other recent poll has had them up more than 6% on the Cons. Like obviously the NDP should be up 20+% because of how objectively terrible our current government is but I don't think this is anything to freak out about. If the NDP wins the popular vote by 7%, they're getting a comfortable majority in the next election. Edit: An Angus Reid poll taken within the same time period of the previous Probe poll only had the NDP up 3% on the Cons.
